I'm probaby going to go with krylon fusion paint since it's latex based and easier to remove if necessary. The only thing I'm worried about is having to wait a week to put her back in the tank since it takes about 7 days to cure. Hopefully the temporary move won't throw her off. I don't want to ruin a good thing.

Thanks everyone for all the advice! :gj:

Just take some foam insulation or posterboard and spray paint that then tap it on to the tank.

I just used black foamcore board, the kind you can get at the craftstore, cut it to fit and taped it on. It gives the little guy more security, and raises the ambient temp to boot. Always a good thing, since it gets freezing up here in Canada.

Walmart has roles of adhesive mats that are used for like kitchen shelves and stuff like that, no drying time and they should peel off fairly well. Or you could always get those scenary things that people get for fish tanks and use those, perhaps spraypaint the back section of them so light wont get through, ta-da easily removed and it will darken the tank for your snake.

    Hi,

You can also get aquarium backing pictures in most pet stores that look quite nice.

Tape that on the outside then tape any foamboard etc on the outside of that and you can have her tank done and dusted inside 30 minutes. :)

Thanks for all the great ideas!

I'm probably going to go with the black foamcore board since it adds a little insulation and doesn't need to be painted.

Black posterboard like you find in the school section of Walmart works perfect, and if you cut it perfectly to match, you can easily move it around --- you can block any number or combination of the sides by just moving the poster board around. Foam board works the same, and they both look great if you do it right.

That's good to know! I'd asked about that on another thread and was told that the good shed our BP just produced was not an indicator of good husbandry, but was due to its lymph nodes or something like that.

Full sheds that dont get stuck on the snake, not retaining eye caps and having full eyes (not dented) are signs your humidity is fine, because those things all require safe levels of humidity.

Doesnt necessarily mean your temps, are okay or that your snake is getting enough food, etc, though. Body shape is indicative of underfeeding, seeing skin between the scales shows overfeeding. Safe temps mean your snake should thermoregulate without being constantly active. And a secure well fed BP most likely wont be roaming around all the time.

Or so goes my understanding from being here for the last year.
