Re: How do they feel about it? (know any ophidiophobes?) :D
My rootmate wouln't even come into my room, he's so scarred of my bp's. I've tried to get him to come and just look at them and he even refuses to do that.

When I told my mom she was like "Adam those things can eat you" and stuff of that nature. She she said if you wanted a pet why didn't u get a dog or a cat. I think she still fears for my life but she still thinks I only have one bacause I've only ever showed her pics of my yearling normal.

My dad actually thought it was pretty cool and he's held it too.

My girlfriend has at least looked in open tanks before but usually runs away whenever I go to pick one of them up.

Some of my friends think they're cool, some don't, but I could really care less. I just hate having to answer all of the dumb questions people ask when I first tell them I keep ball pythons: "Can't those kill you?" Yes, they almost always do... "What do they eat?" Dogs, cats and the occasional baby... "What do you keep them in?" nothing, they're free to rome the neighborhood... "Do you play with them?" not usually, I got tired of getting beat at wii bowling... "Why didn't you get a dog instead?" I did have a dog but a bp's gotta eat...
But in all seriousness I try to answer people question the best I can so that they will better understand these animals, even if it does get annoying from time to time.

At my work they call me the snake lady. Even the people that are afraid of snakes are always asking to see pictures. It amazing how they are afraid at first but they have so much curiosity that it usually isnt long before they want to know more about them.

Its actually very good that people like you are helping to spread the word that snakes are not just for a certain type of people.

I also live in a suburbian middle class neighborhood about a mile from all the theatres, malls, plazas, resturants etc.. Im actually afraid of what my neighbors would think if they had any idea I have a room full of snakes, mice, rats, and ASF's. LOL I know one that would be scared to death!

Thanks! It is funny....ppl are generally curious even though they freak....they still can't understand though. I have to say if I hear about the python that killed the 2 yr old one more time I think I am going to scream. I usually just say.... hold that thought.....and then I get one of the babies.....ahhh...really..yeah..:gj: I mean c'mon....dogs to more harm to ppl than these snakes ever have!
