I am just stating facts. You called something a waste of money before even reading about it. We are all here to help each other and that is what I was doing. He can choose what he wants, the more options he has the better.

And i agree with that but the heater you posted is more for a larger colletion in a shed type setup, not for a small bedroom. Not many beginners will have 4-500 to toss around on a heater when they can get a oil radiator to do the same thing for a fraction of the price. I been using these for about 5 years now with no problems. And MANY others do as well which is why their highly recommended in this hobby.

Fact of the matter, both oil filled heaters and that other heater produce the same amount of btu's per watt.

Both work just the same as far as heat output is considered.

I use oil filled heaters like you Flamethrower, work great in my opinion.

They MAY lower the room humidity, but it's not as bad as other heating types.

I will however say I was always intrigued by those infrared heaters, but after looking at the btu's per watt, I'll stick to my oil filled.

And as far as sucking humidity out of the air would it be possible to add a humidifier or 2 to the room to keep it a little more humid? Im asking as i will be starting a whole new room soon...

If you are heating a SMALL room a oil filled would be alright. I have used them in the past but like most heaters the heat goes straight up and out. Infrared heaters are different, the heat is absorbed. Iv'e always had trouble keeping my basement warm and with infrared heat the whole basement is warm not just the area where the heater is located. It's like with tstats you can but a cheap one and sure it will work or you can but a quality one that you don't have to worry about. There are tons of different infared heaters out there I use that one because like I said it heats my whole basement. They are rather cool you guys should look into them for the future.

SG just get a thermometer humidity gauge to measure the room. Most heaters burn the water in the air causing the humidity to drop. Depends where you live etc etc. Best way to know is to try out what works best for you.

yea, also, all my animals are in tubs in my racks that obviously hold humidity, so i dont see why i would have a problem, now thinking of it..
