I got a dirt devil and am more than happy with it, plus you can stay under $100.

I only have to vacuum a 2br apartment however.

I did the same as it seems a lot of people have. Dropped the big bucks on the Dyson animal vacuum and it has been worth every cent. I have 2 pomeranians(nothing but fur) and 2 cats that all shed like crazy even with weekly brushing. This vacuum has been amazing though. I had gone through at least a vacuum a year and that was even buying the more expensive $300 ones. None compared to the dyson though.

Definitely Dyson! 4 Dogs, 3 cats, and a messy 4 year old. The vacuum is almost 5 years old and still going strong. Take the plunge, you'll be amazed. You can spend $400-$500 hundred dollars on 4-6 crappy vacuums that you will end up replacing, or you can spend the same amount of money on the only vacuum that you will ever need. :w00t:
