But its just best to breed your own if you want to get into the genetics of rats.

I understand that, but when I don't have offspring I need to buy feeders and don't want those uneaten feeders to come in contact with my breeders.

Congrats on getting the Dumbos though! Its kind of hard for me to feed off dumbo babys because they have to super cute effect.

No they don't. They just send all the females to some stores, and all the males to others. The Petsmart on Johnson's Ferry only sells females.

Most all of my breeders are now dumbo's, most produced by myself.

Cute female-I ended up with a bunch of dumbos all sorts of really cute ones-siamese, silvers, blues. It is easy to get caught up in keeping lots of them as it does suck off cute ones for feed-but i end up doing same with hairless too. Try to sell pets to pay for their food but sometimes strike out. I do love the big ears though-weanling are the cutest

Petsmarts separate by stores. some carry females while others carry males, this way you cannot end up with mix-ups or accidental pregnancies.

And as a side note... Breeding that pair together is going to end in a few dead babies. Your female is extremely high-white and the male is hooded which is also considered a high-white. They will more than likely create offspring that will develop mega-colon so keep an eye out for that as the pups develop.

I generally breed solid males to high white female so that I don't have issues with megacolon. Good luck with the dumbos, every one of my breeders are dumbo and some are rex. We have all sorts of pairings and have come up with some interesting combos.
