my probe didnt come off because of the tubs sliding it came off because the electrical tape came off the side.. i have foil tape holding the flexwatt down but no where the probe is, ill be sure to figure something better out.. i like the slot idea!

    they all seem ok :]

    thats a common mistake.
foil tape is about the only thing that will continue to stick as it heats up.
its what pretty much everyone uses to secure their probes

    Hi,

    Actually no.

If it is inside the enclosure with the snake then the snake has the ability to affect it by peeing on it, sitting on it or even moving it completely off the hot end.

All of which would possibly result in serious overheating of the tank which could kill the snake very quickly.

Having the thermometer on the inside of the tank is fine as those are the temps you want to monitor or check but the thermostat is always best placed away from the snakes influence.

Oh and no tape inside the snakes enclosure unless it is the low tack painters tape - use a dab from a glue gun if you need to hold anything in place safely instead.

Hope that explains things a little better. :)
