    I have to agree BG.

I loathe those shows, but I think moreso that reality programming has nothing to do with reality, and I think Bear`s is one of the worst vaudeville acts on the circuit. (the best place to see bad acting is on shows where the people are supposed to be themselves AKA reality TV).

I have had similar conversations with people as you had with the ferret rescue.

Sometimes people just need to be reminded that what I love they may not, and vice versa.

I dissected a cat in my physiology class. Not because I was going on to be a doctor, but because I needed the credits for a degree in sociology. If I impose my standard on those shows (which I loathe), then I would have to justify long and hard the death and dissection of this cat...

    Good post.

You know what I loathe?? That disgusting commercial that HSUS plays all the time!

Survivorman... Yes its a show but hes not killing rediculas numbers of animals, endangered species and what not. What he is showing you may very well come in handy some day. That show is a **** good idea!

Mankind as a whole has become so lazy & dependant on everyone else that most couldnt survive on their own if need be. To be shown how to hunt with no real tools or weapons is a really good thing for everyone to watch.

If something happened and you could not leave your house at all (natural disaster that destroyed so much that not even red cross could help you etc..) and the entire world was in chaos, would you let yourself sit there and starve to death or would you try to hunt something to eat? What about your pets? Would you let them starve to death or would you think about how good rattlesnake and gator is and realize you have a rack full of food there?

I love all my pets equally. Snakes, dogs, fish, even the few mice n rats that are strictly pets. But when it comes down to it, you never know what you will do to survive. Your children and family are more important in a situation like that than your pets..

    Food for thought.
