Help please!!!!

lol probably so. and I know mice are only preggo for like 21 days. Thats why I was wondering what was up with my mouse. Should I get rid of her and and get a new momma or what? She eats fine, poops fine judging by how often I have to clean the cage lol and she had nipples like she should be having them ne second. ? so confusing lol

I thought maybe it was a false pregnancy. I know animals and even humans can go through that where the body tricks itself into thinking its preggo. it gets all big and gets milk in and never has the babies.

She is about 3 months give or take and she eats every 5 days, so she should be okay with this size I guess. I just hope it doesnt put her in fast.

I doubt the mouse is going through a pseudopregnancy, especially since there is a male around. More likely is she is old, obese, and has tumors. If your goal is to produce more mice, then sounds like another, younger dame is in order.

I would be feeding a three month old BP adult mice for sure. No problem.

An adult mouse will not put a young snake into a fast. That happens with older snakes that are fed big rats.

An adult mouse should be just the right size for a 3 month old. Hoppers and fuzzies are far too small.

a 3 month old snake is like a garbage disposal... they will eat anything you throw at them. Im not sure about your mice, I guess since it's pregnant it would look bigger, but I fed a 3 month old hatchling an adult mice (25g) a few times and it was just fine. Rat pups (25g) are about the same size, I've fed those too. :)

Sometimes when you feed them a meal larger than usual, it will make the snake go into shed. I've had it happen before a few times. Also sometimes they will come out of shed and then a some days later they are going into shed again.

We may have already beaten this subject to death, but I thought I’d throw in my 2 cents:

I gave Muffin, my baby ball, 2 adult mice once, and she was so stuffed that her belly turned up in the air and she appeared to be struggling to breathe. I was scared to death, and ran her to the vet immediately, because I kept thinking about how when dogs overeat they have problems with their intestines and stomachs twisting….Anyway the vet was very reassuring and told me 2 important things.

1.) She said the snake would regurgitate the mouse if she couldn’t digest it and that it would most likely happen in 24 hours.

2.) That the overload could become ‘impacted’ in her bowel, but that it was something that sounded more serious than it was. She assured me that Muffin was fine and that her scales were not separated and that she would eventually digest the meal and be fine.
The vet was right and when I put Little Miss Muffin back in her palace she curled up on the warm side and went to sleep. I was happy to see that she could still coil, as this is also a sign that things are ok.
