    Well a year old male snake is probably of breeding age. I wouldn't say that one refusal = a breeding feeding strike though.

    SO and update 11/30

    got back from thanksgiving break and tried to feed Mitch and still refused a meal this is over 2 weeks of not eating.....

    I dont understand....i know its not the size of the rat since thats what he is use to eating

    i dont know what it could be he has always eaten without problems

    You might try offering a smaller rodent just to try peaking his interest (it sometimes works), but honestly given the time of year and the age and sex of the snake.... I doubt this is anything to worry about. ;)

    i was thinking about offering him a few mice to see if thats the problem....the rat would like climb all over it and get face to face with my ball and he would just curl up like he is scared of it....normally i drop the rat in and 2 secs whammmm

    theres been like atleast 3 (now me makes 4) different people telling you hes fine and hes most likly going into breeding mode. if you've been offering him the same thing you have been... why are you trying to rock the boat and try all these different things to get him to eat. if he normally grabs it in 2 secs and now hes not..... guess what he probally doesn't want to eat. its not a problem. just wait out the breeding season, got any females? get him laid

    no females, and how long does breeding season last i dont want him loosing a significant amount of weight
