This may be a dumb question, especially since I have never used Flexwatt, but if you are going to use it on tanks or tubs that are not in a rack, then wouldn't you still need the Aluminum tape to stick it on anyway?
Yeah you will. Unless you route out a place for the flexwatt to sit, even then you will still need to tape it down.

Re: Flexwatt
I just recently put Flexwatt in my rack, and I love the stuff. If you don't want to wire it yourself, Reptile Basics will do it for free with your order of heat tape.

Re: Flexwatt
You dont realy have to tape it to the tubs, that would kinda defeat the purpouse of having it easy with tubs, most people just tape it down to their racks or a wodden board and just sit the tubs on top.
This is just a melanie board I got from home depot. It can hold 3x 28/32qt tubs across. Very handy. Im planning to make a rack out of these boards. But for now until I move, I have one board on the floor on top of towel to keep it form moving around. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...qui/tubs02.jpg
