Okay, so here's what I've done for a start:

-removed the lid form the water dish, and put less water in the water dish so she's less inclined to soak. However, it is still stable and seems like it would be hard to tip.

-Before I had her in a 30 gallon tall; recently came into possesion of a 30 gallon wide. I tried to properly transfer her to the new cage using some guides I found on ball-pythons.net. She seems to be doing perfectly fine in her new cage.

-Since I now have a larger space, I put another hide box on the opposite side of the cage; it came with the previous tank and is a little bigger.

-Still using the carpet; considering switching back to newspaper if I can figure out how to keep her from burrowing under it. I'll try the switch again here soon; if she hides in it I'll put the carpet back. However, seeing as it's warmer in her tank now and she has two hide boxes, she may not want to burrow in the newspaper at all.

-getting into contact with people I know I can do babysitting jobs for to get some little extra moo-lah and posted the old tank on craigslist. With the money recieved, will look towards buying a better hide box (to get rid of the tape you all warned against) and a thermometer/hygrometer; perhaps a automatic mister.

    Sound good?

    Sounds much better!

I don't think an auto mister is necessary, they are more for amphibians and to be honest, are way over priced. There are other things you can do to keep humidity up that are just tank modifications and don't require fancy equiptment :giggle:

Work on getting that thermometer/hygrometer and some new hides and you should be set.

I didn't read the whole thing... but an easy/cheap mister... a 2 dollar spray bottle from the garden center in wal-mart. :D Do it once a day.
