I'm willing to bet it's a Mexican. That coloration and the bullsnake hiss are pretty convincing indicators. Check this site for reference: http://www.riobravoreptiles.com/boas_mexico.htm
Re: Please Identify this Boa
Thanks. Maybe I might be lucky and have a understanding with him ;) and not become his next meal.
Re: Please Identify this Boa
I believe it's all for show. Be very deliberate in handling him and do it often and with gloves until he gets used to you. If you want, I'll gladly take him off of your hands!!!lol. Let me know if you need my address:cool:
Re: Please Identify this Boa
It is definitely a nicaraugan or mexican or one of the many other dwarf variations of bci.
Re: Please Identify this Boa
Looks like a honduran to me, but without verification on the lineage, you really cant call it that definitely.
Very pretty boa regardless! I would love a critter like that over here just to look at :)

The first pics I was thinkin a nic but not so much in the post shed pic.
Re: Please Identify this Boa
I would probably try to get a fecal on him and take him to the vet. The not eating and aggression could be just stress and his normal temperament or it could be some kind of parasite or infection.
Re: Please Identify this Boa
I just updated a old thread of mine, but he is eatting and just a little cage defensive.

While a fecal is a good idea on a new snake, mexican boas are well known for being pissy, hissy and finicky.
I had mexican boas that would not eat unless they were kept in very specific conditions - namely dark cages with lots of nooks and crannies.
Any attempts to but them in a tub or a lighter colored enclosure resulted in going off feed.
