I've learned from past experience to always try to get a photo of such a predicament, if at all possible, espcially if it helps a vet better understand what happened. My camera is never put away, always out in easy reach.
The worst part was when I lifted the tree hide up to see what was going on, and poor snakey was lifted up by that darn loop, since the entire garland was tangled up in the tree too. It was a real mess. (That was too much of a panic moment for me to have gotten the camera.)
Thanks for the good wishes. I'd never seen prior posts about loops in a cage, so perhaps this thread has helped newer members prevent such an accident. I shudder to think of this happening while we were away for 3 days last week.

Robin, I saw the warning about the AccuRites a while back and velcro'd mine to the side. Not only did it make it safer but kept them from getting pooped and peed on and ruined...

Patricia, I'm glad to hear that you got there in time and nothing too bad happened! I went and removed the loop I had made in my thermometer cable after I read your post.
