Vet said that she got bit on the mouth, but she should be ok...Going to start her on oral baytril for preventative measures and then go to a herp vet Friday or the beginning of next week. I could see that she didn't get much of a strike, but wasn't sure of the rat coming out of her grip broke her jaw or not. He said that most likely the rat bit her on the inside and outside of the mouth. Thanks for all of the advice & good wishes, but it's looking like she should definitely be fine.:please:

I think vet clinics should have human psychologists on staff. Seems like the owners suffer a lot more than the pets sometimes!

Hope you got some sleep and managed to finish your assignment on time.

Whew! I'm glad the vet said she'll be ok, and hopefully the herp vet says the same thing. Good luck :)

Yea, I got a few hours and got the project done. After I knew what was wrong with her, I definitely calmed down a lot, but still had a pretty good adrenaline rush going though.

    Some good news -

Got an appointment with a herp vet tomorrow. I also think she must have cleared most of the blood & gunk out of her airways as there isn't any of the wheezing or sneezing that was going on last night after it happened. The 2 vets that were there both said that other than the obvious, she was very healthy and one of them even tried to keep her.
