Riddle me this.......

ugh... sorry I have heard the riddle in reverse... where the two guys behind tell their answers and you have to deduce that color of the guy's hat that is facing the wall. Oops.. my bad. I would go back and edit, but I can only edit my answer, not S771's

Finally, the first man calls out from near the wall: "Your Majesty, I have the answer. My hat is white." The king, overjoyed, declares this man the winner, and a huge celebration ensues!

The riddle is: How did the first man know what color his hat was? (There are no mirrors or cheating involved.)

I still think information is missing from this. I've heard it differently. As I recall, the men are asked, and the third and second answer first... Maybe I'm crazy.

I think there might be a different version of this riddle that you and Bruce have heard. However it is possible to figure out the answer from the info I have given.

You can figure it out back to front, or front to back, whichever way you have heard it... guess I do not feel so bad now, I thought I had given the answer away. Or at least the process by which one can deduce the answers.

I HATED that one... not good with p**********s here. :)
