Concur. Pastel poss Het Albino X Pastel & X Het Albino.

At best you produce a Pastel Albino or Albino and prove the guy out.

At worst you produce some Pastel 50% Het Albinos.

If you go Het X Het, you still only have a 25% chance per egg of producing an Albino, so you still might end up with a clutch of normal looking offspring which would be 66% Het.

I have to strongly disagree here. Since you only have two females, why even breed that 50% het male?? To "prove him out"? Why? Your 100% male can easily handle both females, thus almost assuring you of albino babies, plus pastel pos. het albino babies as well. I'd personally sell that 50% male, and if I wanted another male choose one from the cool babies you hatch from this coming season's hatchlings.

If you breed him and that 50% male does NOT prove out, then you end up with a bunch of much less valuable babies-none of which will be certain hets!

I will not be keeping any of the offspring unless I get a super or get any pastel albinos. I also thought about if he does not prove out then I would sell them for $50 or give them to folks who need them and will pay shipping. I am not in this for money just the joy of making some quality snakes.

I got the 100% boy as a gift he wasn't even in my breeding plans at first. So When I found out my pastel was 50%poss I knew I had to prove him out on the first (chance I get)

I have already put Jack (50%poss het) with Sally (pastel fem) we have what looks like some freak nasty snake procreation so I will get up pics tonight!

I am stoked! Ill keep you folks up to date.

Ok I read your original post wrong-I was thinking the 50% pos was a normal, not a pastel:rolleye2:

Yes-in that case you do need to prove him out. I hate to say it but i might mate him to the 100% het female as well. It's a gamble, but what the heck:gj:
