Re: maaaaaaaaaaaajor problem
No worries! It will turn up! I had a Female who Just got done Mating On her last pairing and She pushed her tub out and got loose for 3 months! I found her while I was getting out of the shower. I heard some people talking rather loudly out side my bathroom window, Strange because the house was empty and for rent. So i thought oh must be some people checking it out. Sure enough it was. I crack open the window to be a good nosey neighbor.. low and behold I see my girl on the end of a 8 foot 2x2! I Flip! out thinking OMG OMG OMG dont kill her!!!! I grabbed some Boxers and Ran outside! and was like OH YOU FOUND HER! like it was normal.. I said no worries she is nice. he laughed and said right... she is all yours so I reached down and picked her up. And she laid 6 Fat healthy eggs for me that season!
Re: maaaaaaaaaaaajor problem
Awesome story cornball... :8:
And to the OP, I'm so glad to hear you found him!! :gj: It seems most of these stories end well, which is always good to know... guess the people who say "they don't go far from home" are at least somewhat right. Delilah escaped twice before I switched to tubs, and both times I found her in the same room as her tank (within hours).
Re: maaaaaaaaaaaajor problem
It's like getting bit... You haven't been a snake keeper long enough until you've been bit, or had an escapee. Congrats on finding it.
Re: maaaaaaaaaaaajor problem
Yeeeeaahhh... I know that sucks, big time. I've already taken my giant dose of panic for my newest (and only) BP. She was only 3 months old, 14 inches, and living in a 29 gallon tank, so we figured she'd never be able to reach the top and get out... WRONG. Thankfully, she was sitting in the corner right next to her tank.:D
Re: maaaaaaaaaaaajor problem
Yay! Glad you found him!
I've had my fair share of escaped ball pythons, and of all of them, I've only had one that wasn't within five feet of where he escaped.
The best story is one of my friends had a female Black Pastel out on her desk. Her phone rang, so she went to answer it. She was gone maybe two minutes. Came back--no snake! She contacted me, and I came over to help her search. We tore that place apart at least twice. No snake. I kept going back to the desk because I know they usually don't go far...but I couldn't figure out where she could've gone. Finally, I picked up both computer speakers...and there was something that went THUD when I tipped the speaker over. Several screwdrivers later, and we open the speaker to find a ball python wrapped around the wires inside the speaker!
They've gotta be doing this on purpose. ;)
Re: maaaaaaaaaaaajor problem
Congrats on finding him, it's always a relief when they turn up.
My last escapee went outside and to the front of the house.
Pretty far for a 3 week old yellow belly girl.
I found her 9 days after her disappearing act, in the grass when I was picking up dog doo from my new puppy.
Just roaming the yard looking down and there she was, blew my mind I had almost given up finding her.
She was easily 50 feet from her tub.
