My snake eats fine while in shed. He missed the mouse once, but he got him on the second shot and had him eaten in 3 minutes. I'm so glad my snake is a great eater.:gj:

I keep a trio of breeder mice, and here's what they like to eat (aside from a staple of commercial rodent food)... dry cat food, plain cereal, bread, sunflower seeds, peanuts, and basically anything else in the grain/nut family. They will occasionally eat fruits & veggies, but don't seem to care much about it. Just make sure you don't get attached to the mouse before feeding day, LOL. :D

P.S. A few of my BPs gladly eat while in shed/blue, but the others usually don't... so it's up to the individual snake, I guess.

Oh yeah, and even before I had my breeder mice, I kept a small bag of rodent food around... for just these occasions, which happen more often than you imagine (especially when your herp collection grows). Might be a good idea for you to buy a bag, next time you're at the pet store - only like $2-5, depending on what you get.

I agree.... we have 2 mice and 2 gerbils right now. The mice are tonights dinner for our 2 little ones. The gerbils are for our 2008 lady who refused her dinner 3 weeks in a row. We are going to try again tomorrow, but I don't think she'll take it.

But, on-topic: We always have some rodent food, just to be on the safe side :).
