A hatchling black and white can vary in price. Wild caughts would run around $90 here. But that is just throwing your money away. My tegu is an "extreme giant" From varnyard herps. She cost me$250, because i bought into the hype. Can i tell if it was worth it? I think so, but we will see when she is all grown up. She is very tame, and healthy to boot, i would pay the extra bucks and buy captive bred.

You can never go wrong with captive bred. Up here in Canada you can get WC Ornate or Nile monitors for $50. I purchased a captive bred (by a Canadian) Ornate for $250 and he was worth every penny.

Wild caught animals should be preserved for breeders looking to expand bloodlines in their stock, and that is it.

    Agreed.

One thing i hate to believe however is this whole "tame parents" stuff.

How valid is it with tegus, monitors, iguanas? Alot of breeders say buy captive bred from my "Tame parents." But i have yet to see an argentine that didnt tame down very well, even the wildcaughts. (that survive.)
