omg cuuuute! Lucky! Buying two, ending up with SEVEN (if I read the birth #s right) :gj:

So these guys have live young? I think that's the first time I've heard of a lizard species not laying eggs, pretty cool!

Some chameleons give live birth as well  So do blue tongue skinks, and a lot of other skinks.

We have armadillo lizards at our facility. Cool little guys who are easy to care for and do very well in captivity.

Spitfire, I usually dont buy animals from petco. Id actually gone there for something else I couldnt find at my petstore and saw them and thought they were really cool, so I picked a couple up.

    These are not Armadillo Lizards.

True Armadillo Lizards - Cordylus cataphractus got their common name from their tendancy to curl up into a ball - like an Armadillo. This species is native to South Africa and can be found in and around kopjes ( rocky outcrops ) and scrub land habitat.

What we have here is the Tropical Girdled Lizard - Cordylus tropidosternum granted they are from the same family but they are not the same. Cordylus tropidosternum do not curl up into a ball and prefer a more tropical habitat.

Don't get me wrong they are cool lizards in their own right but they are a fraction of the price of true Armadillo Lizards.
