    I have always read that Arg species must hibernate the first year to develope correctly. I have gotten that info from serveal different sources over the years. Mine always hibernates in Aug and gets up in Feb.

    Don't take this the wrong way but just because its written doesn't mean the tegus will follow :D. From their pattern, to size and personality they're all different and everyone has different experiences with their Gus'. Not to say that it won't or can't happen,..I'm just saying from my experience not hibernating doesn't effect sexual development :confuzd:. Yes I have heard and read it before,..just haven't seen it.

    Don't believe everything you read. Our Blue Tegu's have never hibernated (Blue's don't hibernate) and this is our second year breeding them. 2 weeks until they hatch!!
