Can ingesting sick mice kill your snake?

So the general consensus is... That it probably, was not due to sick mice alone? When I heard the story I felt that there had to be more involved. I don't personally know these people, they are friends of friends. I have done some searching on the net trying to find any instance where this happened to someone else, and can't. I do know that they have a small dog in the house, shuitzu (SP?), but don't know how long they have had it. Should I call my friend and tell them to suggest to them to have their water checked?
