OMG! I am so glad to hear she was found! Yeah! This so makes my day!

When I lost my little dog Sage years ago and finally got the call that she was dropped of at a vets (good thing I put on signs she needed meds) I was so happy. I drove as fast as I could and got her. She started peeing all over me because she was so excited to see me. The vet was like oh no. I said I didn't care I got my baby back!

Now relax some and enjoy the fact that you didn't give up!

Maizie you found her! All the work and worry has been worth it! I could not have read a better thing this morning than to see the post that Leslie is home safe and sound. Big hugs to you, Leslie and your mom - what a reunion that must have been! :banana:

So here's the area we mainly focused on. we were literally ALL thru this whole area! the deepest part of the woods tho was searched mainly by my cousins hubby, he wasnt afraid of anything!!! I owe a HUGE thank you to him!http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k4...illy/area1.jpg

Heres the other area we combed but apparently we shoulda focused more on this side to begin with, but the "psychic" saw her on the other side wayy in the back! Then we were told by her that she is very far away down on rt 2. thank god she wasnt because its MILES of nothing but mountains! And mind you this isnt counting all the roads we plastered signs on and even talked to people miles away from here about Leslie!!

Im so glad I stopped searching so far away. What if she was hearing me and would of gotten desperate to find me, then she VERY WELL could of been lost down on or near rt2! Many people along with myself believed she wouldn't go that far from the accident area, Im glad I was leaving blankets outside and letting my dog mark out the territory because maybe.. just maybe those smells are what kept her close by all this time! (the red fuzzy writing just says this is where the grumpy old guy lived. he really didnt want us near his home)

Whats strange is, I should of listened to my guy.. When I first got there on Friday the day of the accident, the area Leslie was found in was the area I searched first! Then I kept saying to everyone, we've focused on this side a lot and haven't seen her, we really should focus on the other side. But no.... we all listened to that psychic woman :weirdface... dummy us but it was all we had to go on at the time.

The reason no one had seen Leslie all that time is she was at a house where no one was living at the time, the housekeeper was the one who spotted her while she was cleaning today.

ok... so yesterdays story goes like this (hope you have a cup of coffee this is fixin' to be a longgg post lol)

I left my home around 12:15, i got to Williamstown Ma around 12:35ish. I was waiting for my friend to show up to help me look for her, I was happy she was going to show up but anxious to get looking, but I waited for her. No one was able to help me look the day before, so even though I hated waiting, I did just that. But while waiting, I was still walking around w/ Apollo and calling to Leslie, in areas where I'd see my friend if she finally showed up. I didnt want to dissapear somewhere and have her be like "ok her car is here but where is she?"

Now its about 1:30 so I figured I should go to the spot on Woodcock Rd where I get a little bit of cell phone service and call her to see where she was. I got a hold of her, turns out she was minutes away. I hung the phone up and it beeped. It was a Vmail. A woman called asking if we had found our dog, because she seen a little dog that looked JUST like the one in the paper, with the same small face but with a leash on her.

(Im shaking at this point rushing to dial the numbers & hoping the woman answers as she just left the Vmail minutes ago literally) The nice woman answers and I explain "Hi this is Maizie, you called about possibly seeing Leslie my mothers little dog?"

She said yes have you found him? I said no we havent found her yet, where do you think you saw her? (kind of half expecting to hear some place milesss away like all the other sightings i think like 4 total from different towns) She said Well its on a road called Cold Spring Road (MY HEART LEAPED) I immediately asked her when did she see her? She said about 1:30, I said TODAY? She said yes the poor little thing is petrified, I tried to catch him but he (is it a he or she, she said) I said she, she said but she ran away! im sorry I couldnt catch her for you. I said thats sooo ok, you did the next best thing you could of done, YOU SAW HER!!

I then ask the wonderful woman (Helen) if she could show me where she saw her, Oh yes meet me at the Taconic restaurant, its closed down but we can meet there. So Im frantic!!!! I had no idea where this place was, as i was headed in the direction I thought it was in, I figured I'd prolly see my friend as she went by, but as luck would have it, she was parked and waiting for me at the house. I yelled FOLLOW ME LESLIES BEEN SPOTTE!!!

I asked a nice man where it was and as luck would have it again, it was right across the street from the man. The restaurant sign was taken down when it closed I guess. (he already knew about Leslie missing since day 1)

So here I am pacing like a mad woman back and forth.. My friend and I were thinking maybe it was right around here that she saw her, so we started calling to her.

A woman pulled in, nope wasn't her.. they were just turning around, I musta looked like I was fixing to attack them because as soon as they pulled in I rushed the womans vehicle LOL

A couple minutes later Helen showed up. Hop in, I will take you to where I saw her. Now mind you I know she was completely safe, she was an elderly woman but I couldn't do that. My Apollo was in the trailblazer, I couldnt leave him in the hot car. So i explained it to her and I followed her to the house.

The driveway was almost RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from where the accident was! I thought to myself.. "no freaking way!!!" but i didnt use the word freaking in my head lol.

i got out of my car, my friend got out of her car and the woman explained where she saw her and we looked around for about an hour or 2. She said, I think someone was going to keep her, she had a leash on and must of gotten away from them. I know it was your dog, it had the SAME face, just a little thing.. very timid and scared! I said THATS HER! She's had that leash on her since the accident. She said "Oh my, its a wonder she didnt get tangled up in something then.. How long has she been missing? i said since last friday!!!! She said "oh my word!!" the woman explained no one lives there right now, she is the house keeper and stops by every so often just to tidy up and thats how she saw her, she was vacuuming and saw Leslie standing on the deck. She tried to go around and walk up the decks stairs to get her but by the time she got around to there she was gone! She apologized so many times for not being able to catch her. I told her no need to apologize at all, you gave me so much hope!! i know shes alive and I know where to look now!!! She didnt look hurt at all or even skinny, she looked healthy she told me! I was sooooo glad to hear that, I was expecting to see her on deaths door.

Then Im calling my family or tryingggg to call them, the service up there was coming in a TINY bit, I could hear them but they couldnt hear me. So my friends cell had better service, she called for me. My mother thought it was going to be another fake sighting so she didn't really want to hear it.

So I suggested that I was going to go find a have-a-heart trap and was going to get more canned dog food for it. My friend said she knew someone with some, so off she went to NY to get them. I told the woman I was going to go to the little store down the road, its called the Five Corners Store. the man at the store already knew about Leslie and when i stopped back in there yesterday I asked if he had heard anything, he said no but was planning on calling me to find out if we had found her yet.

So I fly into the store asking him if he had canned dog food, we think we found Leslie! He basically ran to where the food was and got me a tin foil dish thing (like what you'd bring left overs or salads home from a store in) And he handed them to me saying "GO NOW.. GO GET YOUR DOG, DONT WORRY ABOUT THE MONEY" I said are you sure? He said yes, go!!! But I left the money on the counter anyway thanking him profusely and ran back to my car.

I stopped on rt 7 before the service cuts out on my cell (grumbling about how horrible the service is in this area...) We dont have a house phone, so I was sending emails via my cell to the computer, I told my gf to get a ride up here ASAP from her mom or my good friend who is an older woman. and BRING BROOKLYN I typed in caps. I got a text from my gf saying she will be here asap her mom was on the way right now to get her! I had another Vmail, this time it was mom, she was crying.. She wanted to know what I had found out. I called her and said "Mom.. You NEED to get here. It ISSSSS Leslie, Mom your dog is alive! The woman said she seen her and she had a leash on her, she said its the same little dog in the paper" the woman even had the newspaper in her car so I knew she knew what Leslie looked like! Mom ITS LESLIE! GET HERE SHE WILL COME TO YOU FASTER THAN ANYONE ELSE!" (moms crying...) "How can I get there, I have no car?" I said Sheinas (my gf) coming down right now, get a ride with her!!

This was about 15 mins I was parked here, I knew I was using valuable time but I knew if Brooklyn and Apollo was around Leslie would come out, so I needed Brooklyn.. And I needed mom too. So I HAD to take this time to make calls/texts.

So ok.. Im on my way back to the house where she was spotted at, Helen was there waiting for me. I said "OMG im so sorry, I didnt realize you were waiting for me! I had to stop up the road for cell phone service. My mom is on her way now!

She said "No, i was headed back home, when i looked and saw a little thing in the field, I pulled in and it was your dog! follow me, I will show you right where she is." i followed her down and part of me for a split second thought.. no one can be this cruel can they? to play a joke like this? Then i quickly threw it out of my head and thought no human can be this cruel!!!!

I got out, the woman said do you want me to come in and look with you? i asked her politely if she could wait at the house for my family so she could show them were I was. She happily agreed and off on our way we both went.

About 5 minutes of being there and calling to her and walking into the corn field I turned around to go get apolloe (car was running w/ a/c on for him) when something told me to look back.. I saw her!!!

If you've ever seen those old lassie movies where lassie went missing and when she finally found her way home again.. You know when Lassie stands still looking at her owner for a few seconds before she ran to them? Thats exactly what we did.. We both stood there, I think we both were shocked and happy to see each other!!! First thought OMG IT ISSSSS LESLIE!!!! Second thought.. OMG SHE ISSSSS ALIVE!!!!!! i wanted so much to rush her and grab her but i KNEW better.. I started crying but pulled myself together with a quickness!!! i didnt want her to pick up on my anxiousness at all!!

I knelt down and called to her in the sweetest voice and praised her, she started running to me, then something spooked her and she took off to her left (my right)

I thought to myself OH NO.. YOU'RE NOT GETTING AWAY FROM ME.. IM NOT GETTING THIS CLOSE ONLY TO LOSE YOU!

thats when I ran like a bat out of heck to the Tblazer, calling her name the whole time and looking back to see if it triggered the chase instinct. It did a little as she came out from where ever she ran to and then stopped, the look on her face was heart breaking, it was a look like NO DONT GO!!! It really was!! Well it was in my head anyway lol

i got my secret weapon out of the car, Apollo!! By this time she disappeared again! But I knew she was around.. I walked back towards the house where I just seen her, just like I was going on an everyday, normal ol' walk. Normal pace, normal sweet talk to your dog voice..

She wanted to go home you could tell because she came back again walking up on the side of the house. She walked toward me and I walked towards her with Apollo at a steady calm heal.

She went to the left onto the deck, which is waist level, it was a long wrap around deck so every step she took, she was closer to me and obviously I was walking closer to her. I thought if she bolts, Im going to chase her, I knew I could catch the leash because I was so close. But she stopped walking, she let me walk the rest of the way up to her and just let me reach thru the side of the deck and just pick her up!

To actually have Leslie in my arms was a feeling Ive never felt before. It was like it was a dream. I couldnt wait to tell my mother I had little Leslie in my arms. I held her close as I didnt want to chance her trying to get away, but she didnt. She was VERY happy in my arms and didnt want to go anywhere! (until mom showed up lol)

She and I were kissing each other all up as I was walking back to my tblazer.. Then once she was content with how many kisses she had given me, she just relaxed and basically was trying to fall asleep in my arms. She felt safe for the first time in almost a week!!

I went back to where Helen was waiting and I told her "I GOT HER" I gave Leslie a little bit of the canned food, not too much at first as to not send her body into shock but then I looked her over even more. Before I was just so happy to have her in my arms I didnt look her over fully.

Thats when i noticed she hadnt lost a lot of weight so she was definitely eating!! no ticks and only a few burdocks in her fur. I checked her eyes, ears and pads of her feet. And she was completely fine!!!

Helen let me use her cell to call mom, (note to all: Nextel is very crappy compared to Verizon in Williamstown) I told her I had Leslie and Mom went nuts!! She was all trying to talk to her through the phone but I was still talking to her with it up to my ear LOL

About 10 mins later my mother showed up and Leslie turned into a wiggle worm, she didnt want to be in my arms at all!!! She wanted Mom and no one else! My mother couldnt believe it, she thanked me over and over again for not giving up. She was crying, I was crying EVERYONE was crying.

Mom immediately wanted to cover her up and get her warm (tho she wasnt cold at all butttt i just let mom do what she had to do) so she grabbed what I had in the car, bundled her up and just kept smothering Leslie in kisses!

Because this all happened so suddenly none of us had the reward money on us, there was no time to go to the bank. So I handed her 70 of my own money, she gave me her address to send her a check for the rest but I plan on taking the rest to her in person today. Had she not seen Leslie those 2 times today, I still would of been focusing on the other side of the road and might not have found her! I am very thankful to this woman and everyone else who was apart of this!

So from Williamstown Ma we went home to VT. Mom wanted to get her some food, Leslie loves McD's lol. She ate a double cheeseburger (she soaks up the grease in napkins before she gives it to her. leslie even ate some fries and a little of the bun and she never usually eats that kinda stuff, just the meat!

After we were done at McD's I suggested we ride back to Mass to go to Petco, Mom wanted to go but figured Leslie needed her rest, so my gf and I went. We got Leslie 2 cute outfits and a toy. Mom and Leslie came over for a little bit when we got home, Leslie was even playing a little bit too!

She will be her old happy go lucky self in no time :)

So yeah.. Thats our story!

Sorry so long, hmm I wonder why my carpel tunnel hurts now? lol

Again, I cant thank everyone enough, for everything!! Ty for helping me keep the faith and to not think negatively!

God shined down on Leslie and my mom yesterday!
