The blow dryer works really well after they are thawed , too heat them up.;)

Just to echo everyone else this is exactly why they are going for you - they can smell the food but they can't see any other heat signatures to lock into aside from you.

Oh and follow this advice too. :D

I would also spring for the hairdryer - you will be amazed how easy it makes the process. :gj:

I have 12" hemostats for mine, just got a pair the other day, they are awesome.

I feed F/T as well, I find the best thing for me, is I buy cheap sandwhich bags, turn the tap on til it's as hot as it can get, put them in the water in the bags and usually weigh them down with the heavy end of a butter knife, let them thaw for 15 minutes or so.. Never less then that though.. Feel the body, they are usually thawed completely but not overly warm. Warm the water up again to as hot as it will go, do the same thing.. Wait 10-15 minutes and it's go time.. Hasn't failed me yet.

All mine are pretty vicious too right now.. My spider ball came flying out of her hide last night to eat.. It was an awesome feeling because not too long ago she was barely eating.

I notice when I don't do this, they tend to come towards me rather then the asf/rat, so I go and put them back in warm water.. never have issues(knock on wood)

    Cheers,

    Mike

Wow seems like something going around. My 2 year old normal has become very agressive lately. He got my brother's gf on the arm pretty good last week and now he rushes out of his hide ready to strike whenever he hears a noise. I have to clean out his tank today, I'll be sure to wear gloves.

I will be getting some longer tongs at the next show and I'm going to try and find a cheap hair dryer or use the hot water technique. :) I guess I'm just so used to how my corn snake feeds. When I first switched her to f/t back before I ever got ball pythons, I could basically just toss the f/t mouse in and she'd eat it no problem. I'm not used to having to do the "mouse zombie dance" for the ball pythons now that they eat f/t.

My bp is really hungry lately too! Should you feed more often during this "hunger" season or just keep up the regular schedule? Or feed more? I use a hairdryer too! Never have a problem.
