Re: Is this what I think it is....
What Sandy posted is a sperm plug what you posted... not one.
Re: Is this what I think it is....
I did pop her, but im not sure if im doing it right, because i just got a normal MALE today, and it is forsure a male, but when i popped him nothing "pops" out!!! So i think i am doing it wrong!!! I noticed thought that the forsure male, has a longer tail ( from the vent to the tip of the tail) than my "female"!!! So does tail length tell me anything?!?! Is there any other ways of sexing???
Re: Is this what I think it is....
Be careful trying to pop her if you don't know what you're doing, you can do some permanent damage from what I've read. I've seen it done several times and I'm still too nervous to try it on any of my snakes, haha.

Males do normally have longer tails than females, as well as larger spurs. I would not continue to pop your BPs if you don't really know how to do so, it can cause serious damage. Here is a video I found on YouTube a while back that helped me with popping my BP:

Re: Is this what I think it is....
BPs in particular can be hard to pop as they get older. If you have an experienced keeper or herp vet- probing is the best way to id the sex of your snakes.
I pop babies & if I see hemis- they are boys; when they get older & probe the "girls" just to be sure. VPI has a great vid on how to do both methods, but I practiced with my Herp vet & other keepers to get comfortable with both methods. It takes time & I am still more comfortable probing than popping.
Re: Is this what I think it is....
I tried popping my little 4 month old BP, and I thought I MIGHT have seen tiny little hemis, but I think "he's" still too young for me to tell... is there an 'optimum' age to pop them?
I've never been comfortable with popping either. Will a vet charge you much to sex them for you?

My vote is for the long sought after and seldom seen Sea Monkey!:)
