Oh Maizie how awful! I'm go glad your mom is okay but to lose her beloved Leslie like this must just be heartbreaking. You are all in my prayers. I'm going to link this thread over to a major dog forum I'm a member of just in case any of them live in the area and also to ask them as dog lovers to include Leslie in their thoughts and prayers too. Big hugs sweetie, this must be a difficult time for your family. I wish I was close enough to be of any real help.

Also do you have a picture of Leslie or if not any identifying things like coat markings, collar color, tags, etc. I passed your link on to the dog forum and they are going to get the word out to other dog related forums and see who they know in that area. They'd like as much information as possible though to help identify Leslie properly or the exact area she's lost in (I did pass on your instructions about the route and house numbers).

    Hi Joanna,

Leslie is a spayed female yorkie, very blond in color. A super tiny face.
Wearing a teal w/ white polka dotted collar with a blue leash still attached.

I posted on the VT CL and Western Mass CL about it and got a reply about her possibly being spotted. The person said they were in the woods for 5 hrs looking but we didnt see them or hear them in the woods at all. They also suggested we put signs up, well if they were really there they would of seen the signs, right? but its all we have to go on and maybe just maybe its true and not a sick joke, so we will keep looking in that same area.

Unfortunately all the photos I personally have are from when she was a puppy and that wont help as when yorkies are pups they have lots of black on them. The only other real photo is from last year, my cousin took it, my mother doesnt own a camera and I feel like a lousy daughter for not taking more pics for my mom, she had even asked me, so the guilt level is very high on my part. Anyway this is what she looks like, though her hair is a little longer now, mom was letting it grow out

ty so much Joanna, you dont know how much this means to me!! Its 10am and I need to get ready to head back out to search for her but Im going to staples to make a bunch of handouts to give ppl at the supermarket!

I'll pass the information along. Also on your flyers do you have a way to contact you or another person involved in trying to find Leslie? If not or you don't want to post contact info here, are you okay to give it to me privately. In case anyone of my dog friends knows people local to you that are willing to help search I need a way for them to get hold of you (or in case she's actually spotted).

Here's the link to the dog forum so you can keep updated on their efforts (or just prayers and best wishes) to help bring Leslie back home.

Maize, if you have a moment contact the AM radio station that would cover the area Leslie is lost in. They will often put out a public service sort of message in emergency cases like this. That's what my ex-husband did when both his Golden Retrievers got loose in a forested area while he was on vacation up in Canada. Within hours a lady phoned the radio station, having heard the announcement and found both dogs safe in her backyard.
