Re: What Do Good quality pastels look like!
I've been told that Kevin McCurley prefers not to put up lemons for sale until after their 5th shed.
Here's the progression of my lemon pastel female that I produced last year:
Just hatched:

After first shed:

A month or two old (I didn't date the pictures, unfortunately)

A few months later:

Probably six months old here:

About 10 months old (with horrible lighting that really didn't show off her yellow well)

And for the most current pictures of her - you can click my link in my signature and go to The Nest link to the pastel pictures. She's in all the pictures in the series, except for the first picture (of her daddy) and the last picture (of her brother).
When shopping lemons - look for the most pale faded head you can find. Also, it helps to see the sire to get an idea of how they will mature. The dam is important too, that she be a light female, and not a super duper dark girl.

Of course it's mostly personal preference, but I think a pastel should have lots of blushing, nice yellow/black contrast, and a very cluttered pattern (with "cheerios" and such). I think my boy is a gorgeous example of the morph, but of course I may be a little biased. ;) Here he is:
FYI, he's about 7-8 months old, 3ft long and ~400g

P.S. I paid $125 for Toby at a herp show, and I don't know what line he is - Bell or Graziani, perhaps? :confuzd:
