help with a leo hatchling

Every once in a while I get a slow starter. Try removing the head of a larger mealworm and let the baby lick at the goo. Hold the hatchling as loosely as you can while letting enjoy its meal - that will ensure that it doesn't just freak out and will remain calm enough to lick at the mealworm. Often this will stimulate them to grab the whole mealworm. They can handle up to a med sized mealworm. If it does take the mealworm, try another. If it gets too spazzy stop and try again later. I've had really good luck with this method of starting hatchlings. Usually they start eating on their own after just a few feeding sessions.
