I really liked how the aspen snake bedding looked, very similar in appearance & texture to pine, maybe she won't even notice? :P
I live in Maine so I have a feeling I may be better off using aspen to help with humidity levels during the longgg winter- I think paper would dry things out too much. I do use a layer of clean newsprint paper below the shavings to keep things easy during cleaning time.
Thanks again!! :D
thats a good idea with putting the newspaper below the aspen, and im stealing that idea lol. But aspen I believe is the best way to go too, more natural and its great for just about everything. Spot cleaning is sooo much easier too!!

lol steal away :P
I use a glass aquarium as her home, so I'm alllllll about making cleaning time easier lol

same here. papertowels make it easy and keeps it clean, such as aspen falling on the floor ect.
Re: In her best interest to change substrate type?
I switch back and forth between using substrate and just news papers/paper towles depending on time of year. I use substrate in winter to raise humidity and heat levels. I do not use pine or ceder at all. I stick with aspen or shredded coconut husk. But i then feed the snake in a seperate container so they dont ingest bedding..
