Jewel was the Queen OG critter of our Morelia Mafia. She was definitely one my early Morelia inspirations and always one of my forum favorites. She will be genuinely missed. I’m so sorry for your loss brother. This one hurts all of us. RIP Jewel.

I'm so very sorry. IMO carpet pythons are very underrated. Mine is quite the character.

    Thank you all!

Checking in here is bitter sweet.

If I could shake hands and say thank you face to face I would.

Being an animal lover covers more than mammals.

I was quite caught off guard losing this snake.

I didn't fully realize the joy she brought me by simply hanging out on the deck with me while I had a beer or two, but I do now.

Having something from another part of the world under your care is a privilege.

I'm not sure there is anything I could have done differently. I do wish I went to check them all one more time before bed to see it there was anything I would have noticed.

At this point I have to see what I may do to try to make up for the loss. Only 2 snakes will be considered.

A Pokigron, Suriname boa (female) or a Brisbane, coastal carpet which I'd maybe consider a male or female.

Jewel was damn near perfect here. 8 years old is too early to pass for a reptile like this.

    Gio,

I am glad we could help even if we can’t shake your hand or give you a hug.

You could have checked last night and the result could have been the same. You don’t know.

What I know is that you are a great, caring, and thoughtful keeper.

Please don’t second guess yourself. Definitely not in this situation.

Keep your chin up. We want you to and I think Jewel would want it as well.
