but when you go to college you're not going to put it off on them, right? will you live at home near the college? or is college an hour away and you'll live in the dorms. gas aint cheap...it sucks driving an hour just to feed a snake. i know this from experience.

Justin, I to agree with Nathan...we have lived in places that were strict on there no-pet polocies, and we didnt live in dorm rooms either...these were Condo's in Boca Raton and Apartments over here in SW Florida, thnk about how hard it is to get a place that will allow a large amount of pets....especially reptiles. We couldnt keep ours in our Apartment because we had pest control that came in while we were gone, so even if we hid them..they sprayed there crap every where. We could of loaded them up and left, but that would run the chance of being busted leaving with them and bringing them back.

Most places have a limit, ours was 2 cats and 1 dog under 40 pounds...there was a $300 fee per animal we owned...there were no more then that allowed...no exceptions!

You might think it's easy to find a place that does allow any amount of pets but in our area...its not. The only way we own 3 cats, 2 dogs and 6 snakes is because we own our home.

Just think...think..think...I think its great you have dreams...thats what keeps us going...gives yo something to live for.
But work your way up, you dont want to rush into things now...ruin a deal or get a bad reputation in the buisness and be marked for life...

I am letting my parents feed snakes so they are ready to ewhen I am away and can't make it.

When your parents finally get you and your brother out of there house there going to want to have there own fun, and retire I'm sure.
Do you think they honostly want to be snake breeders for you while your away? Thats rude I think, I couldnt imagine pawning my pets on someone else because I rushed into things.

ditto on this I am breeding next year. I am learning from Tim and Sean and all the websites that I go to I am not going to start a compony untill I breed for about 3-4 years and get the hang of things

I never said they would breed them. They would do just what I do now with my snakes. I take care of mine. I also have a dog. Is it rude that they bought the dog for me and they offerd to take care of him when I go to college? They also paird for one of the snakes. Is that rude casue they offerd? We thoguht about this last year when I was going to get a snake. What are we going to do about college. They offerd to take care of them. I dont think its rude that they will take care of them willingly. I will never take my parents for granite(sp) I would prefer they didnt take care of them. But they wanted to give me a snake and they new what was coming.

hey justin, there's nothing wrong with your parents helping out ;)

i think people were commenting more on... getting a business going breeding snakes and then you leave them to clean bins, water bowls, feed... etc etc etc

I've decided. I will keep everythign down low. None of this snake breeding crap. I will still breed the snakes, but I wont make it public and turn it into something big. I might sell a few snake..I might not. I hope everyone is ok with my desision.(sp) It will be better for the snakes.
