Saving a Life! (Graphic images)

What an amazing story! I could never have gotten the strength to perform home-surgery on my snake - let alone ANY animal. But I guess when the situation is dire enough and can be done yourself instead of spending hundreds of dollars, you can manage to do it.

Great stitch job, and get well *Insert spider's future name here*!

Just to let you know, this was actually done in 2007. The snake was named Grace, and is a tad over 2 years old now. She now resides with one of the moderators in Ohio (frankychino).

Thanks for the compliments, and it happens to be one of my favorite storys. I actually attempted this surgery again this year on a Hypo girl, but she had a few extra internals outside, and I couldn't get them all back in the cavity. I was able to stitch her up, and was semi hopeful that she would pull through, but she passed away in the middle of the night sometime.

gald the spider surived and bee ndoing well. I am sory to hear about the lost of the hypo. I can only say I hope I never have to do this aismy monkey paws would most likey cause the heart to stop from me freaking out and crushing it .. I am going to talk to a vet and seeif I can get a couple suture kits for a just in case event. I know ican prolly do it but I know I need an extra set of hands and a couple gallons of Jack dainels after I am done. HEck I prolly need a h;af boxof sutures on hand as often as I am superglueing myself back together. :rolleye2:

Wow that is a great story and even better that she made it. I am so glad someone brought this back. I have to say ....hats off to you. You are a bigger person than I am....I would of had to have my hubby do that one for me.

I agree with the other poster...I would love to see pics now.

That is the most amazing story! Gracie is the most beautiful spider and im so glad it was bumped back to the top! That is something I would do to save the life of one of my babies. People think im crazy to have adopted sick or injured fish & then spent tons of money and time treating them with medication and hospital tanks.

Fish, snakes, dog, cat..

Really.. Whats the difference? You cant have more compassion and love for one than the other. Best story from a breeder so far. Kudos!!!
