I hope your comment wasn't specifically directed at me Dave, as I usually post very positive, respectful things to you. As for the comment claiming I have depth of understanding of the mind of a crack head, that's a pretty offensive comment and uncalled for. I have this skill, it's called objective thinking. You should give it a whirl sometime.
I also didn't come in here insulting anyone and actually said I support your decisions to carry arms (skulls), so I'm not sure why anything needed to be escalated to personal insults. I don't need to start a new thread because I honestly don't care enough. It's not something that I have a strong opinion on. My purpose in life is to add depth of understanding to the world around me. Apologies for ruffling feathers.
I came here and asked a question to try to further my understanding of how someone could make a rational decision to carry a gun around in public. I am realizing there isn't going to be an objective, rational, statistically backed response to that question. I have a feeling the personal insults are stemming from a lack of ability to provide one.
I told you in my first post that I wasn't going to try to have a debate about gun control. I just wanted to hear the reasoning for the decision for concealed carry in public. A few of you provided an answer and I thank you for your time in doing so. A few others have embarrassed yourselves thoroughly. I actually thank you as well for that.
I'll let you guys get back to talking about the specs of your man-toys. Since there was some rudeness out of left field, sleep on this one:
It is statistical FACT that your children's safety is compromised by your decision to keep guns under their roof. Next time you buy them a Happy Meal with a gun in the car, don't ask yourself which one might be bad for your kid, ask yourself which one is worse.
If you don't care enough to start a thread why are you still posting here? I, not sure how you can say " I told you in my first post that I wasn't going to try to have a debate about gun control." Yet rebut most posts responding to your question. It's also a statistical fact that those who don't wear a seatbelt suffer more fatal collisions in a vehicle than those that do wear a seat belt. Are you saying no one should drive a car? The point you are missing is that responsible gun ownership and responsible carrying of a firearm have never proven harmful to anyone. Other than a bad guy. You know why you don't hear about responsible gun owners having tragedies related to their guns? It's because it doesn't happen. Every firearm I own is either on my person or locked in a safe at all times. Period! Please continue your debate on a new thread I'm about to post pics of my guns. Although maybe ill post a pic of a glass of wine or cigarette as they are both deadly.

Why can you not answer my little questions of what a gun packing person should do when they see a crime against a person Mr.Lang?

Of course, if it's a "package deal," I suppose Glocks probably aren't too hard to resell. :P

Lol from my cold dead hands! The ar is a dmps .223. With a red dot sight.

Just sayin', you can't control who posts or what gets posted in your thread. I can make a thread about my *hypothetical* abortion, and just asking people if they've ever had one (LOL - that would be the weirdest thread ever) and do you think it wouldn't explode?
Just let it be, man. You're lucky your thread got this far without extreme explosions.

I didn't realize that was a legitimate question. Of course you should help people in need when you're capable... if you're carrying, of course it involves using your gun. Using your gun and shooting it are not always the same thing. That is something I'm sure you're trained on. I'm plenty aware of due process and I used the word pickpocket instead of robbery because I'm quite sure of the difference. Your original post read that all criminals should be shot dead. I'll chalk it up to being lost in translation. Good day to you, sir.

I agree with you it's the Internet lol, however don't say you don't want to start a debate than begin to debate numerous posts. I clearly said if a gun control debate was what mrlang was interested in then start a new post. My thread title was not " do you like guns, or think you should carry?" I truly was just looking to connect with others who share a common bond. That's all.

This, is an annoying bunch of crap.
My daughter was taught from a young age about guns. She knows what they can do, she also knows the rules we have with guns, and she knows we have them in our house. We hunt, and she understands that as well. She knows what to do should she ever come across one here or where ever. Personally I believe them being educated about them is much better off. Rather than the kid who has never seen one, knows nothing about them, and is curious. Boom, there's your accident. All you people that don't want guns in your house, go right ahead. I'll keep mine.
Oh, and the Happy Meal is WAY worse.

If you a pull a gun you intend to use it. You my friend have proven you have zero knowledge on the subject. Drawing a firearm with intent to scare is a slippery slope.
