so for so good the hood/cabinet area stays a good temperature. it also acts like a uth cause the heat from the lamp directly above it on the birch gets about 90-95deg. so during the day i have to use less wattage to heat up the other cages. but im still getting thermostats, well there on the way in the mail.
if your not gonna use plastics or make a tub rack(or what ever yall call it) and you go with heat lamps, etc. don't use mdf unless you seal the h#ll out of it cause with humidity it well just expand like crazy. I recommend BIRCH and if that that's to expansive go with melamine they make it in all types of ways they even have melamine pieces that you glue on to hid your cuts so you don't see the wood.
