How do you feed her 2 rats a week.. but skip a week?
    Just wondering.
And if yout ake more pics to show her size, something in the bin with her to compare to(can of coke, dollar bill, quarter?) would help a lot too.
Looks roughly 600g to me too though.

I spend $2.00 on a teeny tiny mouse at Petco...price means nothing.

    Check out this page:

    http://www.rodentpro.com/catalog.asp...el=frozen_rats

and then tell us what size rats you're feeding.

If she/he is taking large or XL rats then I would say she/he is bigger than 600g. My 600g 07 male pastel only takes small rats. There is know way my 600g male could take Large or XL rats.

Wow this is the most inconsistent thread Ive ever seen. It is like playing "Whose on First?" with you.

BIG Bp's can take Large or XL. Are you seriously feeding 175-375g rats to a 600g snake.

Seriously I ask, do you know what you are doing?

Browse the forums and absorb some info, please................

Usually scales aren't faulty. They are pretty rudimentary. Its usually user error of the "TARE" button. I guess well see.

After looking at your pictures of her size, she look about 600g . If that is a 20 gal long, she looks about the size of my 570grammer.

I would like to point out that a L (200 g) to XL (400 g) rat is a full grown, adult female nursing. I highly doubt that 600g snake can take an XL(400 g), though I don't doubt it'd try. And yes, that snake does seem to look like 600-800 grams.

I'm guessing your probably feeding her a 5- 6 week old rat or medium. Topping out at maybe 150 grams, if that.

Even then, you haven't probably haven't kept up with feeding her every week like you've said. You said you missed a week, what's really keeping us from believing it was just a week and not more?

There are many people that come to this site, feeding less than normal, some people have been told by pet stores to feed once a month in some cases. It's not going to hurt your image at this point to just say you haven't been feeding her as much as you should, because you didn't know better.

Either you haven't been feeding her as much as you claim, or she is literally being eaten alive by internal parasites.

When you feed her, how big is the lump after feeding? Please, be very descriptive and precise.

When is your VET appointment for? I believe the Vet can get a fecal straight from the snake. (?) You should get her in ASAP.

I had a pair of aging jumbo rats that didn't produce, and ate all the dang rat food. I offered one to my 2600 g girl, and she was able to take it (with a resulting lump, and i didn't feed her again for 2.5 weeks). My 1100 gram "girl" (later sexed male, but i'm dealing with the seller) was unable to handle the other one, so it's frozen (by which i mean she constricted, killed, attempted to eat, and gave up after 45 minutes of trying to get her head around the rat's shoulders).

After the lump i saw in my *big* girl after eating that jumbo rat, i'm not sure i ever want to feed her something that big again. It seems like an awful waste of food, but i suspect i'll come across someone with a burmese or something who will enjoy the second rat.
