I wouldn't pick them up, you can stress the baby inside, IMO.
You can put a low flashlight on one side of the egg and see the baby and if you hold it there long he will move. Try not to flashlight him to much, some say that can even stress or blind them.
I do the best not to bother them unles I have to cut them open and even then I do this with care not to move them around, I do it right in the box.

    Good luck..

Ps. Make sure the lights in the room are low so you wont have a hard time seeing them.lol :sunny:

That's what I am afraid of too. Did anyone ever find out anything about recording the hatching so that anyone that may end up missing it can go and watch it afterwards? Just wondering.....

okay so i have a question... since today is day 60 and it's normally 52-60 days for the babies to start pippin'... when does it become time to cut the eggs?

personally i'd want to leave them to nature for as long as possible... but when does it become too long to leave them to nature?

day 52 :) just playing....depends on the temps he is incubating at, lower the temp the longer the incubation peroid. if it were me i would cut the eggs just slightly to see and then let them come out as they please but its always good to let them pip by themselves

AT 88F it can take a few days longer. My temps are in the high 89.8.
It's up to you if you want to cut but if you do make sure you pinch the top of the egg so you wont cut the snake. I would only cut an inch.

    Good luck.

I incubated at 87.5 degrees and decided to cut on day 65. I made TEENSY slits, and in the end, most of the babies made slits of their own ;)

The other two clutches I have now are on day 62-64(one clutch was a surprise and I didn't catch it until it had been in the female's tub for about a week).

Adam recommended to me that at my temps, I could wait until day 66-68 to cut.
