Oh my gosh, it was like he choked back tears any time he talked about his kids or Terri. So dedicated to his family.

Beautifully put... I've never seen a TV personality so genuinely full of love. He could be exhausted, covered in poop and blood, what have you, and you could tell he was still one of the happiest men on earth. SO much pride, joy, and love in his family, in his work, and in his animals... in all animals.

I remember him balling over his croc Mary (referenced in the icon), holding her after she'd passed away in her sleep... Makes me want to cry with him every time I see it, I react the same way when a beloved animal passes away and it made me feel that much closer to a man I never met... So much unabashed love. I take some comfort in knowing he's reunited now with more family that he loves, like his Mom, and so many animals that he loved I can't even imagine...

just goes to show that you notice a mans great things after his death and while he is alive, you flame him and call him ridiculous like many of you did on here. i thought he was awesome. R.I.P.

Many people on this site including myself and around the world have flamed him for some of the stuff he has done, lets be honest not all of it was perfectly normal, but neither is a guy who would swim in murky water with croc's. The crazy stuff he did on TV was for just that TV, he knew the limits did he follow those limits many times no was this one of those times he crossed the limit line so to speak, maybe and maybe not. accidents do happen. I will miss his shows cause no matter how crazy he was he never made reptiles out to be bad guys.

the tape has been viewed by authorities and they say he did nothing wrong. so i disagree with you sean... i don't think this was one of those times.

did he scare the crap outta me... heck ya! was he "out there"... heck ya! is that one of the reasons people loved to watch his show... heck ya!

if he was all relaxed and calm and cautious... no one would have watched. he needed to be himself... the crazy ozzie he was LOL for the world to sit up and take notice. and then... while he had our attention... he brought environmental and extinction issues to the forefront.

heck of a man he was.

I cried for his kids today, while writing an essay about his life. Its just so sad for me...

I can't get over that he died. He was nice and didn't deserve it :(

Steve Irwin will continue to live on as long as we continue to educate people about the less loved creatures and fight for conservation with even a fraction of the passion that he possessed.
