Perhaps that is the case, perhaps it is not. I have a little more faith in the OP. Maybe that's because I do believe Wes gets away with more than he should be able to.

Don't know how I missed all the fun. I shared a lot of "thanks" and will now respond as well as "I" do;)

I may just be a newb but I can't progress past newb with out more advanced advice. I would hate to try something new and outside the box that hurts my snake
Most people are going to give a "safe" answer to avoid feeling guilty IF you kill your animal ;)
I will use an RI as an example, Everyone here will tell you to get to the vet ASAP. Will I run mine to a vet, depends on the situation and severity but more than likely I wont. (Knock on wood that I have only lost one animal that the original breeder never could get to eat and when I got him he was less than 30g)

Again, what I do and works in my house I might not recommend on a public forum for several reasons.

This seems wrong.
I kind of feel the same way. I know everyone here is great and wants to help but a lot of breeders are not open about everything. I guess its because we all have done things that other might look down on?

You have to remember we are READING this without knowing any of your true expressions. There are many time people think I'm being a smart southern end of a north bound donkey but if you get under my skin you will know.

All depends who you rub the wrong way.

People should remember you learn by listening, not by talking. You want to learn about reptile husbandry, read some threads and you can figure out who knows what they are talking about without making a single post.

I'm saying he has done his homework on basic ball python care.
and in 16 days he already knows all the basics, knows how to identify stress and has enough hands on experience with basics to jump to advance husbandry? http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...-George-Knaack
Again you need to learn to walk before you start learning to run.
And when you want to learn something you do not do so by antagonising someone either.
I think providing advance husbandry advice to someone that started less than a month is not gonna help.

YOU are the one coming across as a wanna be Internet tough guy.
When you've been in this industry as long as Wes has, helped as many people as Wes has, exposed as many bad guys as Wes has, battled life threatening cancer and WON like Wes has.... Well then, maybe just then, we can talk about respect. You aren't even in the same time zone as Wes when it comes to respect.
He may be ruff and gruff, but he's earned it around these parts. You, have not. If you thought you'd earn "cool points" by taking on Wes, you were sadly mistaken.

See, now you've gone and upset Robin, which is VERY difficult to do! ;)

Re: Wilomn...
I for one just happen to love Wes! Many moons ago I posted a thread about regretting something I had done in my past and he talked me through it. Wes is so full of wisdom and I love reading his witty posts. The man has a way with words that I have not ever come across before. You can be damn sure I will take his word over some newb anyday on the care and keeping of ball pythons. He is honest and blunt. I like and respect him for that.
