The missing puzzle piece! I knew from my experience with Garrick that not sending a replacement didn't sound right. I had to wait two weeks for the weather to warm up enough in WI to get him. As impatient as I was to wait, I'd always rather have a live snake and mine arrived alive and well.

Especially with expensive snakes I wouldn't do anything that would negate the live arrival guarantee. I think it's way more than nice of Garrick to offer a deal on a replacement snake when he was shipped when it wasn't deemed the right time.

Hmmm, it's sure starting to look like my surety that Garrick is a upfront reputable breeder was spot on now.

I had never heard anything bad about him before, and that screenshot pretty much ends this whole issue, but I have to admit...I still wanna hear Garrick's side just for fun ;) Lol

And this would fall under void guarantee as I mentioned in an earlier post.

If the breeder wants to delay the shipment due to the whether conditions and the buyer still insist on the animal being shipped this will generally void the live arrival guarantee.

In this case this would be on the buyer.

Yeah, he's a good guy. Bought my Albino from him at the beginning of 2012 and the little guy was in and still is in stellar condition not to mention that the ordering and everything all went smoothly for my first purchase. Only nitpick I've ever heard about him outside of this whole mess was in regards to the Toffinos because apparently some people think it's muddying up the bloodlines. Know nothing about them though so can't really speak on the matter.

Glad to see that this whole thread finally seems like it will be coming to a conclusion soon though.

Honestly I would love to see emails. I'm not stating that Garrick should be put in a bad light. I just found it so strange he would not honor his own terms.

and now a missing piece to the puzzle. Honestly how breeders AND customers react during transactions say a lot.

    What was the rush?

If I felt it wasn't safe to ship, I wouldn't ship. If the buyer can't wait, the buyer can shop elsewhere. Who's at fault?

Very sad that the snake had to die.

After reading that email he sent it all does make sense.

I thought it was strange that a big breeder like Garrick wouldn't honor his guarantee but he obviously stated it was too cold to ship but Derek insisted otherwise.

As of yet we have no proof that Garrick told him it was too cold to ship or that the OP told him to ship anyway. He might have, but didn't the OP say they discussed temps before shipping and they had agreed to go ahead? I can't find the post, so I may be wrong, but I thought the OP covered the weather being OK.

And without Garrick posting some sort of proof that the OP did tell him to ship, we can't really know who said what.
