This is a SNAKE forum, I don't appreciate the animals I love being eaten by frogs. It seems as if you fed it to the frog live, and that is cruel, and inhumane nonetheless.

There is nothing wrong with the occasional rodent. However as a staple it would definitely be unhealthy.

Thank you Ragnew. This is something they eat in the wild, so why not in captivity as well right? I only feed rodents maybe once every 4-6 weeks.

Yes, they would be a much better diet than rodents. It's the mammalian fats and protiens that frogs do not do well with when fed too often.

Captivity is different than the wild. When moving animals to captivity you take away all wilderness factors that provide in it's hardiness and immune system.
It's the same issue as feeding the lizard, it could injure the frog (and even kill it if it's lucky) and if you caught it from the wild or got it from a pet store it could contain ALL KINDS of pests and problems.
Like said previously, it's a stupid risk that is unnecessary when they are perfectly fine eating insects.

It's not different than feeding a CB snake. Said CB snake would have also lost all of it's hardiness factors as well, so the mouse would also have a possibility of injuring/infecting the snake eating it. CB feeders are in no way, shape or form free of parasites and or infection.
I really don't see any difference where the frog(s) are concerned. A staple diet of inverts is the best way to go, I believe everyone has already agreed on that. A mouse, snake or even a lizard is also perfectly acceptable where the bigger terrestrial frogs are concerned. Just don't use them as a staple, it's really as simple as that.
Now live or frozen rodent, well, that's all up to the frogs owner.
