Here are a couple of individuals from our Blood Boa project. The first two photos are of our male Blood Boa and the third photo is of his brother who is a Salmon possible het. Blood. Both of these guys have really cool striping that will hopefully be passed on to their babies. We're exited about possibly producing some Bloody Salmons in the future!

And this guy isn't new but it is a new photo of him! This is a male Motley that we produced earlier in the year.

Re: boa lovers post your pics of your boas
Pork, she definitely appears to have some central american in her, but who really knows. She is a pet store snake, and was labeled as a Colombian RTB.
Re: boa lovers post your pics of your boas
Celia, those boas are aMAzing!!! :O I've never heard of a blood boa before...is that a particular color morph? Is it related to that crazy striping? Or is that two morphs in one? And his eyes are to die for! Absolutely love the salmon and the motley as well.....stunning animals!!!
Re: boa lovers post your pics of your boas
Thanks for the compliments guys!
Judy - Blood Boas are a Central American Boa morph. They are simple recessive. There are a couple of designer Blood Boa morphs that have been produced so far - Bloody Salmons (Blood Boa x Salmon/Hypo Boa) and Pewter Boas (Blood Boa x Anery Type II Boa).
The striping on the babies that we have seems to be associated with the Bloody Salmon project. Rich Ihle at SalmonBoa.com was the first to produce Bloody Salmons and he noticed that several of the Bloody Salmons and Blood Boas from these breedings had a heavy degree of striping so I think it may have something to do with the combination of the two genes. With time and more breeding, they'll hopefully be able to to pin it down. Here's the link to their write-up about it and some of their photos...
