I personally attacked him? How so by calling him out? Or are you reffering to the post after he started attacking another poster and myself with arrogant name calling?
I did not discoun his credibility I did not threaten him.. Hell I was fairly polite in "calling him out" I could have started the thread out a whole lot worse then I did but I truly was looking for a response from him on the original issue..
No need to lock if u don't want I'm done with this thread..

This seems wrong.
Not at all. I'm saying I don't understand why he wants advanced techniques if he's new. I also say I don't give advanced methods to a newbie asking the best ways to keep X. How many times have you seen someone posting "I got my first cornsnake! I want to do venomous! Someone tell me where to buy one!" type postings around the net? Would you point that person at a retic or venomous or a planted multiple snake tank set up?

I think he is just curious. Why do you need to understand why he wants to know something? He has his husbandry down and he is looking to expand his horizons.
It is pretty rare that we get a newbie in here who not only does their homework, but is open to our suggestions and asks questions just for the sake of gaining knowledge.
The venomous analogy is a bit of a reach. Apples and oranges if you ask me. He is just asking for more detailed information on how advanced keepers take care of their BALL PYTHONS. That is nothing like rushing into keeping venomous animals.
Its one thing to feed a newbie information they cannot handle. It is another to deny a newbie the information they asked for specifically. He isn't asking for the best way, he is asking for what we do personally, what works for us. Doesn't mean he is going to change his ways because someone said X and someone else said Y.

Sorry for the double-post(unless it joins it in that magic way I can't ever figure out)...
Love the Wilomn. Yes, he shows an attitude but generally if you READ what he WROTE, as opposed to getting all snarky over the fact that he didn't pat your hand and nod kindly, you'd see he has a good point in almost every post he makes.
I see another keyboard kommando who comes stomping into a site and wants everything to be what he wants, when he wants it and doesn't quite understand enough about how to make friends to know he could have apologized for acting like a doofus in trying to wave his balls about the room with his "I'm calling you out!" routine.
If you wanted information on how to do advanced techniques, you would have read the "Advanced Husbandry" forum, or made a thread asking about how experienced keepers might vary methods of keeping herps. Instead you started a thread thinking you would look AWESOME and it backfired on you and now you got a lot of egg on your face. I would suggest instead of continuing to flail about trying to look AWESOME and Stand Up For Yourself, you could take the excellent advice given already and sit back, take a nice deep breath.
Think how YOU would feel if on a forum dedicated to the racing engine thingys you know about, some new guy who just bought his first Yugo posted "calling you out" and demanding you tell him all the ways that you customize engines.
Time to cowboy up... apologize for the unintended insults and move on in life. People are very forgiving when anyone makes a mistake and will indeed move on and accept. Just my advice, feel free to ignore it. I'm certainly no Grand PooBah of internet, snake-keeping or engine thingys.

There's a whole forum dedicated to advanced husbandry... why are you advocating that he's "done his homework" and that we're denying him information? Why should I bounce up to type out everything I've ever done that isn't on the general caresheet to answer someone who's idea of polite questioning is "I'm calling you out!"? Yes, I used cornsnake to venomous as the worst-case-scenario, but geez. The guy didn't post this thread asking for anything in particular, he just stomped his feet and wanted some attention. No matter how "reasonable" he sounds on a few of the posts, he started the thread to antagonize someone publicly.
He calls himself a newbie in a few different posts. If he wanted to know more, there's tons of threads to read and post on to ask about, or he could post to ask about details of something he's heard of.. but nooo, his idea was this one.

.
I honestly think he had no interest in husbandry when he started the thread. This was started to single out Wilomn and try to embarrass him or something. The tone of the op went from aggressive to defensive. I think the husbandry thing is just a front and excuse.........

I'm saying he has done his homework on basic ball python care.
I already agreed that making this thread was a bad idea, and if he was really interested in learning advanced husbandry, he should make a thread in advanced husbandry. I liked the idea enough to make a thread about it.
The question was delivered improperly, but a few times he did calmly and politely ask other people about their controversial methods. I don't think it belongs in this thread, but it is worth acknowledging the question.
I'm not popular for defending the newb, but whatever. We are all people. Things are getting out of hand now and I'd rather just step away from the conversation. I was hoping it could be productive, but I guess not.
Haters gonna hate.
