I believe the OP already flipped the female blood out of the collection so mark this project as DOA. :O

    ^^Unfortunately yes, I did.

I know some of you have been wanting to hear an update for a while and I apologize for not getting back to this thread sooner.

I recently have been majorly downsizing my collection, not only with snakes but also with my invertebrates as well. Since I'm getting more into breeding Ball pythons I decided to exit out almost all the animals I considered "extras". I have a few other species that are "extras" for now, but I am also going to use them for breeding (Dumeril's boa, Carpets, Kingsnake). My food bill for the snakes was also getting quite pricey per week.

It was a really hard decision to let her go because she was so beautiful and pretty well tempered for a Blood, but sometimes you gotta make hard decisions and go with what is best. Bloods get big, and I felt as time passed it would get more expensive to feed and house her as I already have a 7 ft Dumeril's boa whom I'm still looking for her ultimate, permanent enclosure.

So that's the little background story of this. Sorry if I had disappointed many of you in hopes for hearing some good news about the pairing. The farthest I got with them was the female Blood tail wagging and scenting around, but I'm not positive if they locked since the male was being shy.

I'll carry on your legacy soon Tiff, it may be with a borneo instead though. ;)

exactly my point about responsible breeding and selfish shortsightedness in the name of morbid curiosity. Was the new owner made aware that this blood was being bred to a ball and may very well be gravid with frankensnakes? Bloods have amazing sperm retention abilities (years) and this animal may very well be tainted for future breedings.

I may hold off with the breeding until Spring so I can get plenty of more meals in her and so she has her clutch at a later time than my Ball pythons do.

The male never locked with the female. I watched them a lot of the time and he wasn't interested in her in the slightest bit. These are two completely different species so it would have to had taken some time on their behalf to breed. Even if the female was interested, that doesn't mean the male was too. I only paired them 3 different times as well.

I respect your concern but calling me selfish isn't necessary. This was my choice to sell her and not yours.

Is there a troll, I see?

I don't accept people being rude to others in my thread, especially to someone as sweet as JLC. I would really suggest to stop posting on my thread.
