Absolutely gorgeous, I'm super jealous. I've wanted to get a longicauda for so long and just haven't taken the plunge.

I like 'em too, but I have too many snakes already so I have to live vicariously thru others here.

Yes, that's what I will be doing for at least another few years with any new species. I promised myself if I got the retics, no more new species for a long time. Better to perfect my husbandry with what I have than trying to learn tons of new things all at once. I really need to move first too, their enclosures take up so much more space than a corn or BP. Maybe some day though! Lucky for us this thread is loaded with amazing pics :)

Moving with a lot of big enclosures wouldn't be fun either- better to move first.

Can verify that moving with larger enclosures isn't all that fun, even the relatively small and light 4'x2'x2' PVC enclosures. While I was able to move the boas' 4'x2'x2' and 20L with some help ahead of the rest of my stuff on my last move, it isn't something I'll be able to repeat again, particularly if I have more than one 4'x2'x2'. Either the enclosures would have to be disassembled or I'd have to get a U-Haul/rental truck. I'd definitely advise keeping your group/collection/string o' snakes small and on the very easily managed side before you settle down into a permanent location. Your sanity (and moving help) will thank you later. :gj:

On that note... if anyone was actively saving room for a longicauda in their house, Kuzco's breeder (Allison Theus/Crispysnakes) has decided to repeat that pairing that led to him this season. My forthcoming Papuan carpet will be the only snake I add this year and the last snake I add for a while, so y'all don't need to worry about me trying to snap up longicauda ahead of you. ;)

Moving is certainly one of my least favorite things to do, which is why I keep putting it off. 7 years here even though it was never meant to be permanent, just a step up from before.

Buddy... I gave you your hide back for a reason. Wanna use it?

Kuzco didn't feel like coming out today, so I let him be. I listened to an Animals at Home episode with Lori Torrini recently and decided to try some new choice-based stuff with Kuzco. It'll be interesting to see how it goes, given how shy he is.

Kuzco was out and cruising tonight, so I took him out for some supervised "explore" time. Got some nice photos of him in the basket.

Bonus: "I'm comfy, I swear!" (Ignore the abysmal humidity reading; the probe's a fair way off the ground where the humidity's actually okay.)

You'd never know he just ate. Already giving me the face and looking for more.
