Re: Have you taken your BP to work or anywhere else?
Hey OhBalls
Adds a lot, thanks for that:gj:
Great to see how it can actually help others. They use pets of the furry variety quite often in special hospitals, old age homes etc as it tends to help the patients.
So many people say that when they get home after a stressful day it helps them to unwind by spending time with their pets. Some have a cat (I've got 3:rolleye2:) sit in their lap, a dog (I've got 2:rolleye2:) to play with, fish (I've got none, but had 5:rolleye2:) to look at, so what's to stop a BP from doing the same:confused:

LOL...we have three cats (well two and one who adopted us) and a dog.....still trying to teach the dog to change the litter box...LOL
yeah, i really love it when Alan comes over....he wants a snake now (it's in the incubator)...thought he would want a lizard, but wow...up to him to firstly handle the snake, make his home and take care of it....the snake will stay here till mom recovers from her son's recovery...LOL...though mom is ok with it...dad on the other hand refuses to come over and see the animals...:weirdface....he will....i think the hamsper is about to be replaced...LOL
We have great neighbors...i thank them

Re: Have you taken your BP to work or anywhere else?
O.o Well maybe I said it a little to harsh :taz:. I guess I had a little bit of my rebel side coming out. Don't get me wrong I'm not one of them teenagers that takes hers and throws it in everyones face saying look look I know you're afraid of snakes but I don't care! I am very respectful of people who are afraid of them. Like my boy friends dad's girl friend, (Wow what a mouthful) she is absolutely petrified of them. You even show her a picture and she hyperventilates. But I do take mine with me where ever I can. I do understand other peoples points of view on this subject.
Anyways! On with the happy stuff. I took my snake out and let it crawl on my computer chair for a little bit and got an adorable snapshot of him wrapped around my arm rest thingy. >.<

I will try and get some better photo's of the lil guy ( been meaning to do it for ages). In the meantime there are a couple of pictures in my gallery taken with the old camera.
Ps, don't get excited the new one is rubbish too.
If you want to look them up I think the scientific name is Lamprophis Capensis. There are some nice discussions on them in this forum. and this is a whole forum devoted to them.

You click on this icon https://ball-pythons.net/forums/imag...iquote_off.gif in the bottom right of the posts you wish to quote - it then turns red https://ball-pythons.net/forums/imag...tiquote_on.gif and when you reply to the thread all the posts marked in this way will be quoted for you. :gj:

Re: Have you taken your BP to work or anywhere else?
Thanks for that;)
Well dangit! I just went and bought a normal female BP today:gj::gj:
I've been looking for an older woman for Samson:D . Delilah is probably 8-10 months old and a good deal bigger than Samson. Problem is she is taking live prey so I'll need to get her switched to f/t.
Anyhoo. I was driving past my workplace on the way back from collecting her and decided to stop off to show my guys there. Again there were screeches when they saw the bag coming but this time they all came round to have a look. I kept her in the bag and gave each guy a chance to peer in:O
They at first thought it was Samson and asked how come he's grown so big so fast! There was laughter when I told them that this was Samson's girlfriend. In some of the cultures here big women are seen as favourable over normal sized ladies, so Samson was apparently getting a good deal

Here she is folks
Delilah

She purdy..... I like it when you get those ghost shapes down the side, poor Samson has none at all... She is tame as a kitten as well, no aggresiveness noted yet...
Also I've noted the stuck shed. Shed shed a couple days before I got her and has already gotten rid of most of it.
She'll hopefully be the mother of my first clutch, but there'll be some waiting yet. I expect she is about 8 months old or so. Samson is 5 months(almost 6) and is is visibly larger than he is. I'll weigh her in a few days time once she's settled a bit....

Re: Have you taken your BP to work or anywhere else?
lovely looking snake... and that picture is simply phenomenal. the different facial expressions really get to me, it's touching to see. i'm glad that they had the courage to say hi to her ;) and to even hold her!!!
i have taken my ball python to the pet store to get him weighed and to try and show him to the gal that works there in hopes that she could tell me more about his lamp burns.
he (snikolas my BP rescue) has not left this house since, but i think once it's nice out i would probably bring him out again. the summer days are humid and hot here (yay coastal maine) so i'm thinkin it's snakey kinda weather. i took him into the yard the other day :) he LoOOOooOoOved the grass :)

Re: Have you taken your BP to work or anywhere else?
Hey ViciousBliss
Thanks for stopping by.
Shame to hear about the lamp burns, what happened with that? I've read a lot on this forum that BPs don't really need a lamp, much rather underbelly heat:gj:
I've got a 100W infra red lamp which I put on at night when it gets cold. It's not in the actual tank but placed outside and used to heat the tank up a few degrees, not close enough to make the glass hot to the touch though.
Oh yah, before I forget, I picked up another female BP today! I want to get hold of one more female for Samson. I've actually got a 3ft'r lined up who should be ready for breeding next year. I'm not sure if the other 2 will be ready this time next year so I'm keen to get hold of this mature female.....

when im in a sitch that i dont know the people, and how they react to snakes, i stay away from groups, and generally i have a friend or my mom tell them "hey, she has a snake over there, your welcome to look, but i wanted to warn you." =]
