Lady Liberty...

Everyone meet Lady Liberty... aka Lady... aka Libby... aka LL COOL SNAKE... hatched 7/4/17 hence the name.

She’s a Caye Caulker, Caulker Caye, whateva you wanna say dwarf island boa.

I couldn’t say no... I’ve had my eye on boas for a bit now but wanted to wait for the right time. Then she popped up. And I had to...

I had become friendly with a boa breeder a few months back when I had inquired about a snow bci he had. We got to talking and he said he had a male and a female of these he was going to grow out. I decided to wait on a boa and ended up adding some more bp’s. I got a text Sunday that he was too busy with real life and all his other boa burm projects to start this project and if I wanted her I had first dibs... it didn’t take me long to know I had to... then after some pics and an awesome video I was like how do I say no? I don’t have a ton of space but I couldn’t pass her up so I made it work. And she is here!! I’m really happy with my decision.

She’s just gorgeous and soooo Pink and Peach. She’s really sweet and fun to handle for the few min I did before she went to her new home. Right now she’s in a 2x cube with a bunch of climbs. I’m happy with how it came out and looks and I’m excited to see how she acts and interacts compared to my other snakes.

Me? I had a guyana bcc for over a decade but gifted her to a friend, now I'm looking into getting another bcc when the time arises... although a sunglow or sharps albino bci may change my mind. Lol

Yea the sharps really pulled me into even looking at them. Then the dwarfs and hog islands grabbed me hard.

Looks good Phil - I forgot to ask earlier - is that a hide on the right side? It's good to have at least 1 for them just in case.

i have 2 hides in there a warm hide on the left and a cool hide on the right.

Thanks Richard! She was a dream to handle for sure and sting as ever the grip on her was quite unreal.

I always make sure to ask lots of temperament questions prior to purchase.

I knkw nothing is guaranteed but i like to get as much info as possible.

The seller had said she was really sweet and easy going never aggresive and he sent a few handling videos to show such behavior.

Looks awesome!!!!! Enjoy your new boa!!!

It’s not guaranteed , really pleased for you that she chilled already

I always made sure I handled my babies i produced last year as the mum is a grump Which I rescued at 4 so most of the harm had probably been done,I do still handle her but she is very unpredictable
I handled the babies every other day except around sheds and after feeds like and they was all really chilled and all the new owners have been really pleased with how relaxed and inquisitive they have been

thanks for the info and advice. What type do you produce?

thags been my plan and approach with my balls and my rat snake and I plan to do the same for her. Once she adjusts of course and starts eating for me regularly. Going to give her time to explore and get comfy in her enclosure.

I was told she was readily eating so i hope I hope she continues that here.

She was out and about a lot yesterday then she found the hides and has been there mostly but it’s all new for her so we shall see. I really got her because I hear they love to climb and are out and about

Boas are great and the little ones love to explore
Mine was a common boa poss het albino with my motley boa, she’s nearly 8 and only 5ft but a proper solid girl, she only had 5 and 7 slugs , I had two lovely motley’s and 3 normals and one that almost looked jungle, she didn’t have enough to prove her het out, im not sure wether she has caught again this year ,I hope so, but next year a lot of my others will be old to give me some really nice babies, I’ve got some pure locality stuff aswell as morphs

So I did just that and she slammed her first meal. Rather different feeding experience than with my balls in her constricting fashion...

I am totally seeing that first hand! I was planning on feeding her anyway but I was in her cage getting some water in there and moistening the substrate to bump the humidity up a little bit and I guess that triggered her to say feed me

Really glad she ate fine for you, boas are generally really good feeders

did she coil and hold for ages before eating. Mine do that for about half hour sometimes

hahaha. She did exactly that and I was like ummmm. Then I used common sense and said boa CONSTRICTORS LOL.

she was like upside down and just hanging on for Dear life and squeeezing away!! Was very cool

Boas always want to eat lol. And mine do the same thing about holding it for a while. Caesar sometimes forgets he is even holding food and just looks out side the cage doors while sitting on his food. Then he realizes he has dinner lol.

Congrats Phill... She is absolutely stunning and love those pinks/peach colors and that name for her is awesome! I was looking for a CC but they are hard to find here in Toronto. But that's OK because my 2 beautiful Hog Island Boa's are my 2 queens...Thank you for sharing!

Yes, they have some grip, even as babies. Mine holds on tighter than any of my other boas.

She makes great use if the hides. More than I’d expected or honestly would like. I hope as she gets comfy she’s out more on the branches and climbing. Otherwise she’s just gonna join the lump in the log bunch like my bps lol. If that’s the case I need a GTP or something lol

My boas are very rarely in there hides ,normally chilling on there branches or on top of the hide, they most use them around shedding or just after food, you have only just had her, sounds like she’s settling down nicely anyway

I ALMOST went against EVERYTHING I said I wasn’t going to do when I went to Repticon and nabbed up a Sunglow from Davinci’s Boas....man....I almost wet myself looking at their gorgeous Boas that they had available. I already told my hubby....I WILL have a GTP or ETB and a Sunglow Boa lol

Yes, they are both hypo. Although Zarah, my second girl has alot more orange/salmon color. Depending on their mood their colors change (darker vs lighter). My first girl, Raina does not have as much orange and alot lighter. They are both very sweet girls and worth every penny!!!

I took LL out this evening and want a pleasure and fun snake! She’s alllll over. Such a climber and so strong.

She was true to her name she was literally like a grayish blue like the statue herself.

Amazing how these island boas change shades literally as you are holding them!

The color morphing is just breathtaking. I opened the cage and she was as you said andifferent snake then the one I unboxed. My heart sank for a second like oh no. Then it was like hey fool. Dwarf locality boa. This is what they do!!!

shes very sweet and fun to handle that’s for sure. Crazy grip awesome climber and total explorer.

The sun was in my favor and to y back from the big windows and it really added a glow to her. You could see the irredecence shimmering in that bluefish Grey green she has going on

The iridescence is just amazing in some light, they just like oil slicks, so cool, really glad she is settling in so well

Thanks so am I! She seems very very seeet and docile so I can’t see why that wouldn’t continue and grow as she does since she’s just a baby.

Yea I was not expecting to see the iredecence on her because she’s lighter and grey. Always see that with darker snakes. But when that sunlight hit her she was glowing like A member of the Cullen twilight family !!
