Spaghetti progression thread

in about 2 hours this little girl will be at my doorstep! she's a coral glow/banana from Josh Jensen (great dude). here are some pictures from Josh, but i will update with my own when she gets here!

this is her hatchling picture. barely any freckles! she was born 6/8, a day before my birthday, in 2016

she was my christmas present to myself, but midwest weather made me wait almost 2 months to get her. needless to say i'm so excited to have her home!

She is a very pretty little girl. Great pick up !

Been waiting for this thread lol. Can't wait to see her when she gets to you. She's beautiful.

turns out when your snake is from somewhere nice and warm, then shipped hundreds of miles to somewhere not so warm (then just left on my doorstep for half an hour until i saw the delivery notification when a signature was required, gosh darn you fedex!!!!!!), they take some time to adjust. well after some adjusting from her and adjusting to her tank (mainly just smaller hides), early AM i noticed a little snoot poking out of her hide as if to say "food??" something i have yet to see her do.
it's feeding day tonight so hopefully i get her to eat!

Spaghetti is so cute! I love her freckles so much. Can't wait until mine gets some. :D Thanks for posting this, I was curious to see progression photos of coral glows.

it was unsuccessful. 😝 she was super interested in feeding, tho! first time i've seen her react to scenting the room: she climbed up her tree and was starting right at where i placed the rat on top. i hit it with the hairdryer, offered, but she decided to go into her hide. no biggie, but i kept trying to offer it, she was tongue-flicking and in strike pose, but didn't take. she's coming off live and i feed F/T so maybe she needs some time. diligence!

of course after refusing, tonight is feeding day for Yellow and she thinks it's all about her 😋 you're just going to have to wait a couple more days, missy.

and the rat pup is down! if you notice: her hide is askew from the force she struck with. this has been so nerve-wracking; it's been a while since i cared for a hatchling but i'm over the first hump! ah!!! i'm a proud parent.

Yay! Rightfully so, she's gorgeous. Hopefully she'll continue to eat well after this. I'm lucky Calliope isn't a finicky water (though I recently switched to frozen and she keeps looking at me like I've insulted her. She threw the f/t into her water bowl twice before finally eating it.)

hah! i've never heard of a snake doing that.
spaghetti started slowly showing interest that she was hungry: i'd offer f/t, she'd seem excited, but was fed live and would turn away. when i woke up this am she was out and i knew this was gona be it. she wasn't out when i scented the room tonight but after hitting it with a hairdryer, i stuck the head in her hide and she came looking; heated it up one more time and she struck. 😊

Well I'm glad you got her to eat, maybe I'll try scenting the room before feeding Calliope next time so she knows it's food, not a water dish sponge. I should also get some feeding tongs, she almost got my hand once. Lol.

She looks like a sweetheart. I'm sure the cellphone camera does her no justice as I know from experience with Calliope. I can only imagine what she looks like in person. I'm sure she's beautiful.

How much does Yellow weigh and how old is he now? I still think Jumbi is a little noodle even though he's gained 500g since I got him. But I know they grow at their own pace. I'm excited for him to be full grown haha [emoji28]

he's 2 years and five months old! he's in shed and has a bunch of rats he's holding onto, but the last weigh was like ~780g? he went on a hunger strike for a bit in december and when he moved into his T8 in january; he's finally putting weight back on plus some. hopefully he sheds and poops soon so i can see how much he actually weighs!

Yellow is just under 4 feet. he was always pretty small growing up when i'd compare him to posts on here. lately he's been eating like a champ, so maybe it's a growth spurt? hahahaha.

Well I guess jumbi still has time to grow haha. He's more on the slender side rather than bulky but it's probably because I'm feeding him multiple leftover mice right now haha. He'll eat anything though [emoji16] im blessed with a garbage disposal. For now haha

Yellow is pretty thick and a lot of muscle. he was always kind of an on/off feeder for whatever reason, but since he settled into his T8 he hasn't missed a meal! 😀

feeding day today (well, yesterday now) went well. she struck so hard at the rat pup she completely picked up her hide. right now her snoot is poking out looking for more. she is really becoming a voracious eater.

then there's my darling yellow: hasn't shown any interest in striking prey since his move into the T8, yet eats very well when i leave the feeder. he's currently in the dull/blue stages of shed: the feeder is still laying in the tank so i don't think he'll take it; he never was a good feeder during sheds. can't wait for him to come out of it since he's had such a solid eating streak after his fasting; i'm very excited (except for the massive poop i know he's hanging on to).

it's fun to notice their little differences from each other even with the age difference. who would think snakes have personalities?

little miss noodle is weighing 303g as of tonight. she took her first weaned rat like a champion 3 days ago and was poking out of her hide looking for more. she might just get her way and i'll end up feeding her tomorrow night.
