What are your other hobbies/interests?
I'm an all around techno-nerd. I'm always on the lookout for new pcs of computer tech and games :D. I am soon to be deep in a classic car restoration which should be a good project to keep me busy for ... oh say ... 2 years or so ;).
How about you?
-
Im usually out with friends but aside from that im either cleaning my room (becuase its so small and i have so much stuff in there) or one of my pets cages.Between three snakes,12 hermit crabs and one dirrty little hamster....thats quite a bit of cleaning.Im obsessed with my hamsters cage, i rearange it at least once a week and i cant stand for it to be dirty.
Most of my free time is spent with my animals but i love to play soccer/jog and just hang out with my freinds, much like any other guy my age :)
But these snakes have me wrapped around thier little fingers.....well..you know what i mean.
They get most of my time.
-
For me time, it's ball pythons! They consume almost every aspect of my life and all of my time outside of work and family.
When I'm with my son, we are usually either playing duel masters, outside digging with tonka trucks or riding big wheels, or smashing stuff!!!! :P
-adam
-
for me its ball pythons and skateboarding!
-
What's spare time?
K
-
Spare time? you guys have that?
im gonna kill my guidance counciler...
When I do actually get the chance, I love to rock climb and snowboard.
-
The front page looks awesome K!
-
i'm right with kara. no time to myself, always working. :bleh: when i'm not working i'm sleeping or messing with my car. so what are you restoring led4urhead?
-
usually when i have free time i lift. but recently i havnt had alot of free time. grr...other than that, obviously snakes :)
-
I play alot of old Sega crap in my spare time... as well as draw/paint. I'm also completely obsessed with cars (I'm no mechanic... but I can tell you all kinds of uselss information :) ) I spend most of my time at sign painting school.... well, not most of it, but I make sure I get there super early and stay a little late, I don't get home until a little after four because of the commute. When I'm home I'm usually beat, lol
Led -- What kinda car are you restoring?? I'll pinstripe it and paint a nice BP on there for ya when ya finish ;)

1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2. Early build date of Jan 1965 :D. I'm going to finally get started on this project after the 1st of the year. The car doesnt have the original engine, but i was able to find a pretty early 1965 Code A 289. I'm looking forward to it!
-
well have fun with that. why'd you choose a fastback? if i was going to restore anything it would have to be a mid-60's camero. i started on a '72 land cruiser for a while but ended up selling it.
so, invadertoast... want to paint me a bp? hood to trunk?
-
My uncle has a '67 Shelby Mustang, he's also in the process of restoring it... I can't freaking wait 'til he finally finshes, this project has been goin' on since I was a little kid! My other uncle also has a '66 that he wants to do something with... it's pretty boned out though, and his wife won't let him play with it because she's mean... but someday :) lol

Sure! Just gimme 'til next spring/summer when I graduate, I don't learn airbrushing in detail 'til next year. I'd be happy to do it for ya :D
-
my grandpa has a 68' shelby mustang gt 350 is blue with white twin stripes....its so beautiful
now back on to the subject
-
come from a ford family at all? personally i'm more partial to GMs, but i have had my thing for a GT 500 before (though i'm over it)
-
so, lindsay... are you into cars or painting? or more the combination?
-

Both, heheh. I've always liked to draw stuff, but when the time came to think about art schools I decided I really, REALLY didn't want to be a graphic designer. I've also always, always, always liked cars. A couple summers ago my boyfriend got a brown Plymouth Sundance (it was cheap and available... lol) and we painted it two-tone w/ flames as a joke. Then I had an epiphany and e-mailed a couple custom car/sign guys in my area, and found out about the Butera School of Art. I'm lucky 'cause it's the only school in the world that teaches sign/custom car painting and it's right in Boston :D So, that's my life story... lol.
Oh and I'm a Ford girl at heart, but I'm open to pretty much anything and everything, except imports (sorry guys, I can't understand the 4 cyl. thing...)
-
LOL, i definitely don't get the import thing. THERE'S NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT A HONDA CIVIC!! i'll try not to hold it against you that you're a ford girl. that just means you haven't spent enough time driving nice cars ;) i used to be a toyota girl (an old TLC could drive right up a wall!) but then i met the chevy that stole my heart.
-
Lol, I'm currently driving an '85 Linocln Mark VII with a worn out 302... nothing special, but I love that car, she's been good to me, lol. I'm waiting on my uncle with the Shelby to hand down his '88 LSC to me... hopefully next spring. Then I can tell all my friends that I have two Lincolns and people might think I'm rich ;) I like my share of GMs too though, I got to drive a '68 Firebird with a 400 in it, now that was awesome!!! And my boyfriend has me turning my head at every old Buick that comes within a 100 mile radius of me. I haven't done too much off-roading... but I did get to drive a '68 Austin Gypsy. That was hard, but fun!
So what Chevy was it that stole your heart? :)
-
yeah, old firebirds are great! it wasn't really just one... well, ok. there's one car that has actually IMPRESSED me in the past 4 or 5 years. a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville GXP with a 3.8. i took it for a test drive and, like i said, it impressed me. i've driven about everything there is (from old mustangs and cameros to a '71 rolls royce and everything new) and i fell in love with this car. i'm also in love with '97 Tahoes. well, any tahoes or suberbans (mid 90's and up) but one of these days i'm getting a 97 tahoe. wow, it's after 5. maybe i'll get out of my pajamas soon? i love lazy days!
-
My boyfriend's parents bought a '98 Bonneville with a 3.8 in it last summer, nice car! It's not a fancy edition or anything, but from what I've heard, 3.8's are good engines! They drove it across Canada and back and it did great from what I heard. My boyfriend's Olds 88 has a 3.8 in it too. That thing also drives like a rear wheel drive... nicest front wheel drive car I've ever driven :) I have a thing for 90's Roadmaster wagons... I'm such a dork, I hope to have one someday... complete with wood paneling ;)
-
with all my talk about GMs (which have a special place in my heart) i should admit to driving a Mopar :disbelief:
-
you want a "family truckster"!!
-
and a 98 isnt' the same, they changed the design of them in '00. much nicer.
-
Yeah I know the Bonnevilles got a face lift... I think I like the older ones better though... actually, I guess I'm still undecided, lol. Do you have msn messenger? We're clogging this thread with car talk, lol :)
-
-
my spare time... video games. i'm a loser and i love video games. on friday nights, my friends and i will get together and play some creepy game on PS2, like Silent Hill 4 or The Suffering.. :D i love video games! i stayed the night at my friends house last weekend, and all 8 of us played Halo 2 all night. :)
-
Nice Carson! ;) Angela - I think if my childhood best friend hadn't recently joined the Marines, I'd make him get his butt over here to play some good old Streets of Rage 3.. he gave it to me right before he left... and left me with nobody to play with :( We used to play games for DAYS straight when we were younger. Game marathons are fun :D

Oh my god, rice burner alert! lol I don't get it either. I prever the 8-12 cylinder types. :D
Seriously though I love sports cars. In fact, I named my BP Shelby after the Shelby Cobra. I figured I wasn't owning a (reptilian) cobra anytime soon, so why not a Shelby python!
I love Corvettes and pasta rockets (Ferraris and Lambos) Heh.. I actually plan on buying an oldish 'vette.
Hey Super_Smash.. you didn't happen to get your screenname from the video game, did you? It's one of my faves. I'm a video game addict as well, I admit. :)
I also love horses.. I have a thoroughbred, and I ride (not as often as I should though.. no time!)
All in all though, animals consume my life.. and happily.
I also love doing artwork too.
Ok this post is getting too long. :)
-
I went to school with a girl named Shelby... also named for the Cobra ;)

Oh.. hah! I didn't even realise that was Kirby. In the first SSB Kirby was my fave too, but in Melee I use Fox usually. I just snipe everyone with the gun from afar and annoy the heck out of everyone.

I definitely will! ... I'm wicked excited for you!

Yeah K, the front page looks awesome.
Super Smash: That's the first thing I thought off when I saw your nick. I didn't know your avatar was Kriby. I usually end up using Kirby when I play that game with other people, he's the one I'm best at using.
The 67 Shelby Mustang is stil my fav classic car.
Back to the original subject.
I homebrew (I need to scrub down my kitchen and a bazillon beer bottles, so I can bottle the last three batches..and I have to do something with the frozen cherries in my freezer that were supposed to go into my Yule Mead...the cherries take up too much space, and the yule mead didn't need them.)
Some part of my brain is screaming at me that I have no batches of mead fermenting right now...it's so wrong :P
That reminds me, I will do a big post about mead and give some home brewing details tomorrow (for all of you that have been curious) if I remember. I'm feeling out of it right now.
I have cordials sitting in my closet that need to be filtered and bottled as well.
I read a lot.
I play RPG's with friends on occasion, and compter games from time to time.
I have just picked photography back up as a hobby.
I stll dabble with music occasionally..(I own several musical instruments, and I need to start playing my digeridoo again.)
This sounds like a lot, but some of these hobbies sit for long periods of time when I'm really busy or focusing on one of the other hobbies for a while (like during a school semster).
-
1968 Shelby GT 500 KR > everything else :D

I think that means those moments in the bathroom when you can enjoy a few minutes peace with a book? Not sure otherwise.

You mean you don't have people standing right outside the door talking to you because whatever it is can't wait?

lol! Hey I'm the kid in the family, and I often have someone (mom) talking to me from outside the door. I have to tell her to go away! Even if not I usually have a selection of cats and/or dogs accompanying me.
-
Heh. My ex-roomie left home so that she could take a shower without her mom standing outside the bathroom door talking to her the whole time. Some people are more inclined to give privacy than others, but the little ones definitely don't! ;)

Digeridoo :P Here's a link to the place where I bought mine. (This place is one of the few that sells really good ones, and not some cheaply made knock off from overseas that will crack, fall apart, etc.) It's an aborigine instrument from down under. They also have links where you can hear people playing them in the cd link. I can't remember if there was an example of one in one of the Crocodile Dundee movies or not.

Oh, very cool Schlyne. I always liked those things.

How Unfortunate
In my spare time, I try to keep the house clean, as well as the thousands (well it seems that way, hehe) of cages/tanks in our house, plus I help around my friend's pet store as a sorta parttime job. Me and my boyfriend like to go hiking and snowmobiling, and horseback riding if weather and finance permit. Most of my spare time is spent drawing and painting though; I fit it in whenever possible. And oh yeah hanging out with the close friends I have is also somewhere in there too0, but nowhere near enough. Funny how your closest friends are sometimes the last people you get around to seeing. But they could not hear from you for a year, and you call em up, and it's like only a day went by!
