NARBC Tinley Park 2013 Meetup!

Hi everyone! Its our favorite time of year!!! Tinley time!!

I will most certainly be attending! Last year we had a little get together and it was great! I'd love to meet up again this year and perhaps get some lunch or dinner?

Last year we had lunch at Chipotle then a few of us had dinner at the hotel restaurant before the auction. It's kinda impossible to go through the show as a group, so lets meet up in the lobby around lunch time to chit-chat!

What do you guys think? Any food suggestions? Anyone interested in going downtown friday or saturday night for drinks?

Let me know if you are interested and then we can nail down a time and exchange phone number! I already have a few of your numbers ;)

Beth and I are going, room has been booked for months. You know we're always up for downtown action. Personally I think friday works better for chicago and then just hang out in tinley on saturday since most people will be there.

My god you got me hooked on chipotle, in march I got put on a job that was right across the street from one.... I think we were there every other day.

Well we already got each others number, so I guess i'll give ya a call when we get into town.

So I was thinking of suggesting one of the bars that was on bar rescue, just because hey it was on tv and we watch the show. When I look them up the the abbey and blue frog's local 22, they don't seem to have the greatest reviews. Now I understand most people making a comment are going to because they had a bad time, so does anyone local havee anything to say about them? I think I'd be more up to checking out the abbey being a music venue, maybe something is playing that night? local 22 seems to be more beer based and I'm not a beer drinker.

Yeah I'm not into beer much either. There are a TON of bars here that have live music. I'll look some up and post the reviews/locations.

We could always just go get the best burgers in town at Kumas Corner!!!!

I'd love to meet up again, but it would have to be for dinner. I am going to working with the Madison Area Herpetological Society and I'm not going to be able to leave the table much during the show.

Everyone should at least stop by and say hi though, I'll be there all weekend. :)

I will be getting in Saturday morning and would love to meet some of my fellow Bp.Net fanatics, lol.

I am game for whatever we decide to do on Friday night, whether its drinks or dinner. And just keep in touch on Saturday and we'll meet up too. Mark and I are not at the host hotel this time - we had some delays in determining if we were going to make it or not, so by the time I was able to reserve the room, they were BOOKED. :( Huge bummer on that. But we're in the sister hotel 5min way, so it could be worse. Next year, we'll do better. LoL!

Tinley meet up?! Woot! Though well have a party of 7 this year so I won't be able to stay all night I'd love to meet a few more fellow helpers! :D last year it was like... "Oh hey..." To a few of you.. Or literally run into and almost over Stephanie from Slithern' Sisters. :P

I'm still not sure if I'm staying overnight or if I'm going home Saturday afternoon, but I'd love to meet some new friends. I don't really have any offline friend who are into herps so it's always neat to get to chat with someone with the same interests.Let me know if there will be a mid-day meetup of some sort.

Maybe we can get lunch together around noon, then head back to the show. There are a couple interesting speakers at 1 and 2pm I'd like to see.

What we have done in the past is meet up in the lobby area. I'll be sporting my BP.net shirt and some brightly colored pants :) Hopefully I am easy to spot!

I will be coming from Milwaukee on Saturday morning with my boyfriend and at least one of his co-workers. Would love to meet some of you. Not sure what are agenda is going to be yet.

The think about Kumas is, they sometimes have a really long wait. But only because the food is delicious!!

We are going to go to Kuma's Corner on Friday night. Its on the north side of chicago pretty close to 90/94 highway.

We will probably have lunch on saturday around noon. I was going to send out some texts around 11:30 and try to group everyone :)

Well, I'm definately day tripping it. Money is running a lot shorter than expected so I'm not gonna blow $100+ on a hotel room. But at least I can still go. looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday. 400+ miles in one day is gonna suck a bit though.

Well I have some sad news, 4 of our party backed out.. So it will be me, my wife, our 8 month old and my brother. Oh well, we should arive around 10 if traffic permits.

I did that one year, I can confirm it does suck lol. Also remember the time zone difference, so you don't show up an hour and a half early wondering why no one was there....

Its a little bit of a journey from the blue line. I'd say at least a 15-20 minute walk. There is a bus on belmont, so you could do a train + bus if you wanted.

Lol, did that at the march show. it does let you get into the line early at least. Being I'm a truck driver, you'd think I'd catch things like that.

I am looking at a pair of Fire-Belly Boas, Surinam or Guyana BCC, and possibly Mussurana and/or Madagascar Hognose. And hubby wants another Green Tree Python. :D

I think I got some 2 years ago, I don't remember from whom, but it was next to all the freedom breeder racks.

Last year, there were NO vendors with any kind of feeders - rodents or otherwise. I don't know if they've changed the rules or what, but there weren't any there in March or October in 2012 or in March 2013. Just thought I'd give you a heads up - maybe there will be some there this time. :confuzd:

Did you check the vendor list on NARBC's website? Maybe that will clue you in to who might be there with feeders.

Either way, it's still worth going!! :D

Thankfully breeding my own keeps the rodent situation covered. Just talked to the wife and we are gonna show up early like we did in march, just on purpose this time. And my wishlist would likely involve loading of a semi and the construction of a building or two. So darn excited I feel like an 8 year old waiting to go to Disney or something.

Edit: They did have crickets and meal/super worms there in march this year, but they were givaways from timberline and it was first come first serve. Made my ackies happy.

I feel the same. Leaving after work today and it's going by so slow.

I know Sean will be there, not sure if Tim will but most likely.

Only about 34 hours left. :P it's going by slower than a slug being trickled with salt..

Yeah working now myself. Gonna be a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong Friday. Then up at around 0530 to get ready to head over there.

I already have my order in with American Rodent Supply. Did that a couple of weeks ago, I triple checked the vender list to make sure there was someone that was selling frozen rats.

Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow morning! I probably won't get any sleep tonight, too excited.
