What things (big or small) have you sold to buy BPs?

My newly-regenerated BP interest is causing me to look around our house, wondering what to sell for snake funds. Have you ever sold anything odd, big-ticket, or otherwise notable to buy more snakes? Cars, jewelry, etc? Thought this'd be a fun thread :)

I am considering selling some of the tanned animal hides that I have. I tan hides at home, and have some that I could part with. (not meaning this to become an advertisement; I have not committed to selling any but it is tempting!)

Trying to sell an Xbox 360 now to afford an Albino. Also been thinking about selling some of my more expensive eCigs... Haven't actually done it yet, though.

My other model horse hobby supports my snake hobby, and helps with other things too. I've had my model horse custom painting business well before the snakes though; I'm passionate about both and both hobbies brings me happiness in different ways.

eCigs! I use them constantly. It's the only way I have been able to kick the cigar-smoking habit. I now want nothing to do at all with regular cigars, or cigarettes :)

I don't own anything that is of any value to anyone else but me. Except my snakes and maybe my car. I'm pretty minimalistic.

2 and a half years smoke free for me thanks to them. I've got a Provari collection in front of me that's probably worth $500... It'll go eventually. I've got a new hobby. LoL.

Awesome; congrats for quitting. I have at least ten friends/family who quit smoking for ecigs. I only have some eGo Twist batteries and clearos; nothing fancy or beyond what I need everyday, but the fancier rigs are neat. I'd rather have snakes too though; lol.

I sold my recipe to my cheesecake....... Sounds like a low ball but I was given $400 for it. :O even I was surprised. Than again it was from one of my chefs at school while I was attending Le Cordon Bleu. Needless to say that money bought my first retic and part of my rack. LOL. The only other thing i had sold for snake purchases have been rats, and one of my Ibanez bass amps.

My Harley sportster paid for my adult rack, herpstat4, yb girl and fire boy. Trying to figure out other things I have to sell...hmmmmm

Hehe. My husband is about to buy a Nightster. I only think "wow; that $ could be going toward snakes." Lol.

I've been thinking of hawking my soul for more snakes, I'm not really using it much.

You have to have a Soul to be able to sell it!!!:P;)

Selling extra feeder rats has paid for a few of our additions.
And about 1.5 years ago we sold all of our aquariums and equipment to add some money and concentrate on the reptiles.

I too am a model horse nut and P Stoner. Snake peps I'm going to loose you in horsey talk....... Sold my entire Wintersong conga to help pay bills and pay off a snake on my card. I still get a lil tear when I think about Silverado and Glossy Winter. He was a OMG I can't belive I won him guy, and Winter came on my birthday.

I think about selling them all sometimes. I cant talk myself into it though. Somehow they keep making more little horsies and falling into that black hole which is my collection. But oh how I would love a nice Coral Glow!


Oh and I have a few nakie resins that need love!

My jeep,guns,electronics lol just about anything.. But the biggest sacrifice is cutting back on food to buy them. Lots of peanut butter samiches... Just peanut butter lol. Gotta do what we gotta do rite:)

I feel you. :/ I sold my Breyers off years ago to pay for some debt. I had the Halloween collection including Skullduggery. I do have a few that I kept, and most of my Stablemates, though. The Earth (Elements) is my favorite; could not sell her :) I bought a few cheap Traditional oldsters at a flea market a few months back for a shelf.

It sucks to have to choose between collections; wish that we all could just have it all. :)

I've sold a few of my personal collection artist resins to fund some snake things, but there's some that are a "never sell" (like my unpainted Traditional Independence AR by Rose, he was my "grail" horse). I used to be big into the OF Breyers and some Stones, but my passion is the AR's now.

And my books are always open for LSQ custom paint jobs.....:wuv:

My old juicy couture jewelry and charm collection bought me an albino, a 36" exo terra cage set up, and a four cb70 tub rack.

Though I've always been good at selling things on eBay. It's how I avoid clutter. I purge my apartment and sell regularly.

I sold off quite a few Breyers years ago. I kept a couple of the "grail" horses that I had. I had no idea that anyone else knew about Breyer anymore...everyone's into electronics these days.

Getting ready to sell a bunch of pelican cases, 2 digital cameras and hopefully some of my ceramics/pottery and photographs....

I gave up an xbox and 52 inch tv for snakes. I was gaming to keep myself occupied but when I moved into a place I could keep snakes I gave it up. I am not much of a gamer anyhow. and I mostly watched movies and tv shows on my computer or ipad via pirate or netflix, plus I could still game on my pc if wanted to play something which I did when I was extremely bored. I got into breeding rats and that actually became a living for me til my roommates girlfriend decided she wanted $2500 of my money more then I needed it to pay bills.

have sold some game systems before. but my main hobby is fish and horror onesheets. so not to change thread around but i did sell a bumble bee one time for a poster, lol but with my risng obsession to get me an albino again. stuff might be sold lol

I don't think i've ever sold anything to get a snake. I've thought about selling some of my stuff, but I'm kinda too lazy to lol. I collect sports memorabilia too but would probably be hard pressed trying to find someone willing to trade snakes for that. I guess i could try selling some of it sometime, couldn't hurt lol.

lol :) I did sell off my collection years ago, because we had a long-distance move (for $ for the move, as well as logistics; I was not going to be able to breed them in our new place, and other things like getting a new job and settling in took precedence. I kept some snakes as a base to restart someday, and ended up selling all but one who was more of a pet than of breeding value to me before we moved back here for financial reasons. Now, if I could go back, I would have tried to keep more of them. I did ensure that they were sold to good homes, but my advice would be to think long and hard before selling off. The BP virus is like mono; it stays in your system, and can pop up years later!

Omg i totally agree with you there Gin! Over the years both me and my husband have had to sell some snakes here and there cuz we needed some $$. It really sux to have to do that! You gotta do whatcha gotta do....but there are a few of our babies that we refuse to sell....some "key" animals that would help us rebuild our collection should we have to sell 50% or more of it.

Hooves are white.. matte/metallic gold finish. I have IDed it as a Gold Charm foal; a Decorator Series! Cndition is not too good, but not too bad, either. Some rubs/pinprick scratches, but no breaks in seam or chipped ears/feet/m/t. :)

I asked since some yellowed Smokys (another run of the Running Foal mold) can have that same look of the gold charm :) I think ~$80-100 is reasonable in today's market for it in the condition it is. Prices have really dropped for these guys since ~ '07.

Gah; I know. I sold almost all of mine around '07-'08, so I suppose I got good prices for them.

I've sold ball python's to buy more ball python's:D

I've sold snakes that didn't fit in my breeding plans anymore or old cell phones that I had before upgrading.
